For a brief period, Overwatch 2 gamers can bag fifteen free loot boxes effortlessly, with several becoming available just by playing the game for fifteen minutes.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Overwatch 2’s Season 15 has officially gone live! This exciting update brings back loot boxes, which can be obtained without spending a dime through the battle pass and weekly challenges. To celebrate the season launch, Blizzard is offering some exclusive event challenges with rewards that include even more loot boxes than usual. And here’s an extra tidbit for fellow Discord users: complete a new quest, and you’ll score five free loot boxes!
To participate in the Discord quest, simply follow these steps:
1. In your Discord app, locate the quest under the Discover tab.
2. Accept the quest.
3. Spend 15 minutes playing Overwatch 2.
4. Once you’ve completed and claimed the quest, use the provided code on Battle.net to receive five free loot boxes.
Remember, you have until February 25 to accept and finish this quest. Good luck!
For the Overwatch 2 weekly event tasks, players must initially finish five matches, with victories being equivalent to two each. Subsequently, they need to complete 15 additional matches to receive another five loot boxes per challenge. Since wins count as two, you can accomplish these in a few matches if your team emerges victorious.
With the addition of the Discord mission, players now have a grand total of 15 loot boxes up for grabs. This is despite relatively minimal overall gameplay time. Players have until February 25 to tackle the in-game tasks, which additionally offer other prizes such as the Rainy Day skin for Mercy.
Nowadays, loot boxes in Overwatch function differently compared to their initial introduction. To begin with, players can’t directly purchase them; instead, they come as part of the game’s free and premium battle passes. Each box contains an item of at least Rare quality. After opening five boxes, a player is guaranteed an Epic-quality item, while a Legendary item is ensured after opening 20 boxes.
In addition to the reintroduction of loot boxes in Overwatch 2 Season 15, there’s another significant change: Perks. These mid-match upgrades significantly alter the gameplay experience by enhancing a hero’s abilities or providing entirely new ones. For a comprehensive overview of all the new Perks for each character, take a look at the Overwatch 2 Season 15 patch notes for further information.
In the upcoming Season 16 of Overwatch 2 later this year, there are significant changes on the horizon, including the introduction of a new Stadium mode played in rounds, as well as the arrival of a new character armed with a crossbow named Freya, who will make her debut in the game’s next season.
