Yes, Minneapolis Really Is That Small

Reflecting on the Love Is Blind reunion, a recurring thought for me is: Isn’t Minneapolis remarkably compact? It seems like the participants keep bumping into each other, no matter where they go. For instance, Madison Errichiello went out because she heard Mason Horachek was at the bar, and that incident turned out to be incriminating against Devin Buckley during his argument with Virginia Miller. Later, during their disagreement, Madison and Molly Mullaney reveal something Devin said to them when he was out one night. This leads me to wonder: Just how small is the Minneapolis bar scene? Monica Danús confirmed this during a live discussion at SXSW, stating that “In Minneapolis, North Loop is where many people live and hang out, so when you go out, you have to mentally prepare yourself: I’m going to run into someone I want to see, and I’m going to run into someone I don’t want to see.

It’s been discovered that members of Love Is Blind, season eight, have had frequent encounters during the time between filming and their reunion. As Danús explained, “Many of us live on the same street, so it’s not uncommon for me to bump into some people at my favorite café. We’re civil with each other, but we don’t necessarily seek out these meetings.” This might sound like a dreadful situation to a New Yorker, but we’re delighted for those who appreciate the Twin Cities!
