‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff Starring Luke Grimes Eyed at CBS

Another new “Yellowstone” series could be in the works, but this time at CBS.

It’s been confirmed that EbMaster is discussing a procedural series where Luke Grimes reprises his role as Kayce Dutton. The specific storyline details are still secret, and no agreements have been made yet. Similar to “Yellowstone,” the new show would be produced by MTV Entertainment Studios instead of CBS Studios.

Representatives from CBS chose not to offer a statement, while representatives from MTV Entertainment Studios have yet to respond to our request for comment at this time.

I’m excited to share that the upcoming “Yellowstone” series, which follows the conclusion of the original show in late 2024, will feature Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly reprising their roles as Rip and Beth. Previous reports indicated that they would star in a spin-off series that’s currently being developed by the brilliant mind behind “Yellowstone,” Taylor Sheridan. Notably, he has also created the prequels “1883” and the currently airing second season of “1923.” Additionally, there’s another series in the Yellowstone universe, “The Madison,” starring the talented Michelle Pfeiffer.

In the initial season of “Yellowstone,” played by Grimes, Kayce Dutton first appeared, a role he continued to embody throughout its popular run on Paramount Network. In the last episode that viewers witnessed, Kayce managed to sell the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch for the exact same amount as his ancestors had purchased it – $1.25 per acre. The Broken Rock Indian Reservation and Thomas Rainwater were the buyers. Despite this, Kayce retained a portion of the land where he now resides with his family. Additionally, during the original series, Kayce held the position of livestock commissioner, which may be relevant for the development of procedural elements in the storyline.

Puck first reported the Kayce Dutton news.
