Back in December, news broke out that Kevin Costner, our main actor in “Yellowstone,” was planning to leave the show to concentrate on directing his upcoming two-part Western film titled “Horizon.” In June, he officially announced his departure before the release of “Horizon: Part One,” which unfortunately underperformed at the box office.

Last September, during a child support hearing related to his divorce from Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner hinted at legal action against the producers of “Yellowstone” due to a dispute over payment for Season 5. He argued that he was entitled to $12 million for the second half of the season, citing a “pay or play” clause in their contract. The details surrounding his exit from the series have not been addressed by either the studio or the network.

Moving forward after “Yellowstone”, Paramount has given the go-ahead for a modern series spinoff titled “The Madison”. This upcoming show features Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, Elle Chapman, and Beau Garrett in its star-studded cast. Additionally, there’s speculation that Season 6 could potentially be commissioned, focusing on the characters played by Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser.

Chris McCarthy, as President and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, expressed in a statement that “Yellowstone” has served as the foundation for a multitude of international successes, ranging from “1883” to “Tulsa King.” He believes that the upcoming “2024,” the Yellowstone sequel, will also be a major hit due to the exceptional creative vision of Taylor Sheridan and the captivating casts who breathe life into these series.
