As a seasoned movie-goer who’s seen more Westerns than John Wayne himself, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and nostalgia as I read about the potential sixth season of Yellowstone. After binge-watching this gripping series from its very first episode, I find myself deeply invested in the Dutton family’s tumultuous journey through the heart of Montana’s wilderness.
It seems that Dutton is parting ways with “Yellowstone,” but there might be more to come. Initial reports from Puck suggested a potential sixth season for the Taylor Sheridan series, despite Paramount’s earlier declaration that it would conclude after five seasons. Deadline confirmed on August 27th that discussions are ongoing for another season starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler respectively. The fifth season of “Yellowstone,” often referred to as “5B,” felt like a fitting ending point, given John Dutton’s apparent departure from the lead role. Kevin Costner, who has other commitments coming up, has announced his absence from the next season that debuts on November 10th. However, sources told Deadline that though a deal for season six hasn’t been finalized yet, plans are in place to continue the main show’s narrative. And it seems there may be more years left for “Yellowstone” spin-offs.
