Yellowjackets Season 3: The Most Unhinged Scene Yet

In ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 3 Episode 3, titled ‘Them’s the Breaks’, the initial pace is somewhat leisurely, but the last 10 minutes compensate significantly, packed with action, reappearance of a significant character, and an unusual element – conversing alpacas.

Episode 2 ended on a suspenseful note as we were left wondering if Melissa could be the mystery woman who’s been stalking Shauna in the present day. This revelation came amidst flashbacks to the ’90s, where Shauna and Melissa shared an intimate moment, but also included scenes of adult Shauna discovering a detailed description of the unknown woman. Only time will unveil the truth.

Regarding the remaining members of the group, Mari is currently under the control of Coach Ben after unintentionally stumbling into his hidden trap. Meanwhile, Lottie persists in her quest to connect with some sort of mystical force found within the wilderness.

Currently, Lottie has left the mental health institution, and now it seems like her troubling presence is affecting grown-up Taissa this time. This theme carries on in Season 3, Episode 3, leading up to a shockingly unsettling finale – beware of major spoilers!

Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 3 ends in chaos

Towards the end, Akilah gains wisdom from a chatty camel that bears a striking resemblance to Danny DeVito, as Jackie reappears, viciously attacking Shauna using a slap bracelet, leaving her neck severely wounded.

As you might have guessed, it’s all a dream – a poison-induced nightmare, to be precise.

Earlier in the episode, Coach Ben decided to release Mari from their cave dwelling. This was after he recognized that he lacked a proper plan for them, and they had almost accidentally blinded each other with bear spray.

She vowed to keep secret where he was hiding, yet as soon as she returned, she spilled the beans to the rest of the Yellowjackets and guided them straight to him. It’s not endearing behavior, Mari. Ben wished to steer clear of them following all the cannibalistic acts that unfolded during winter.

As the girls approach the entrance, Nat attempts to dissuade them by stating, “There’s no need for us to go through with this.” However, Akilah responds resolutely, “We absolutely should.

Without a moment’s notice, an ear-piercing, thundering cacophony of the wild fills their surroundings. This noise was reminiscent of what we heard in Episode 1, yet its meaning remains ambiguous: is it a cautionary sign or a fortunate omen?

As they advance, they encounter an obstruction within the system. Nat instructs them to divide their group, assigning Shauna, Akilah, and Van to follow an accessible route. Upon reaching an entrance, however, events begin to take an unusual and unexpected course.

The lantern of Van began to flicker. Turning to her left, she called out, “Shauna, we should…” But Shauna was nowhere to be found. Addressing Akilah on the other side, she inquired, “Did you…?” Again, Akilah seemed to have disappeared. With a sigh, her lantern went dark. Swallow hard.

As Van treads through the inky darkness, she encounters a door. Pushing it open, she discovers a cozy-looking lounge. Van settles down in a spot near the fireplace, fixated on the dancing flames.

As I tread through the great outdoors, I come across a lush blackberry bush, irresistible to my foraging instincts. Soon enough, I’m savoring the juicy berries one by one. Suddenly, my eyes catch a sight – a pen filled with adorable sheep, chickens, and goats! Just as I reach out to pet one, a voice echoes behind me, “Watch out, they can nip!

When Akilah spins around, she encounters a llama chatting with her, an unusual sight indeed. “Teeth-bearing animals don’t attack,” she remarks, yet the llama counters, “Any creature equipped with teeth defends itself when threatened.

He informs her that they’re trying to reach her, prompting another bout of loud noises. The camera then shifts to Shauna, who is in the midst of a lake, and can faintly hear a child calling “Mommy, mommy” in the distance.

As she gazes upward, she spots a child – likely her son – calling to her. Yet, despite her efforts to swim towards him, she remains stationary, much like in dreams where one tries to move quickly but everything seems slowed down.

Jackie makes a terrifying return

As I sit comfortably in my chair, engrossed in the game, peace suddenly eludes me when a fiery ember leaps unexpectedly from the flames. In an instant, my tranquil rocking chair transforms into a turbulent airplane seat, and I find myself battling to break free. However, a horde of zombie-like appendages grips me and forcibly drags me back.

Meanwhile, Akilah gradually sinks into the ground, and just moments before, the llama had cautioned, “It might be simple, or it could be challenging. Regardless, it’ll achieve its goal.” Eventually, Shauna is pulled under by the water.

It seems like you assumed our story was concluded. However, in the continuation of our tale, upon waking up, the girls find themselves in a classroom setting. In this context, Lottie, one of them, takes on the role of the teacher. On the chalkboard, she has written, “Among all methods to part ways with someone, death is perhaps the most merciful.

Out of nowhere, the janitor strolls by, and there’s the Man without Eyes – the enigmatic figure who’s only shown up in Taissa’s dreams so far. To make things even more surprising, it’s Jackie who is seated at the front of the classroom, fiddling with a snap bracelet.

She offers it to Akilah and says, “Shall we give this a try?” Akilah easily slips it onto her wrist without any fuss. However, when Van tries it, it nicks her arm, causing her to toss it angrily across the classroom.

Jackie grabs the object and remarks, “This is just a scratch, there’s no need for you to act so timid.” Following a brief silence, she swiftly wraps it around Shauna’s throat, resulting in blood streaming from the wound as it tightens. Despite Akilah’s attempts to remove it, she fails.

As the vitality seems to fade from her eyes, Shauna stirs awake within the cave, with Akilah awakening at the same time. Ben appears, donning an improvised mask, and holding Van with him.

He declares, “It’s toxic,” he says. “There seems to be some sort of gas.” Ben leads everyone to a secure zone within the cave network.

Before Ben has a chance to collect his thoughts, Nat approaches and aims the gun at him. “Stay put,” she warns. “I regret to inform you, coach, but you’re coming along with us.

Although the third episode of Season 3 ends with a particularly bizarre scene involving Yellowjackets, it’s not the sole event that unfolds. In other words, there are more happenings in this episode besides just that extraordinary incident.

Van isn’t going to die but someone else might

Currently, Van learns some encouraging news: her once-terminal cancer might no longer be fatal. Taissa interprets this as nature compensating them for their sacrifices in the wilderness.

In case you recall, during Season 3’s premiere episode, the duo had a dining and dashing incident, which led them being pursued by a waiter. Unfortunately, it was later discovered that this individual suffered a heart attack and tragically passed away as a result.

After Van mentions that she might be in remission, Taissa shares about the waiter. “I think you’re also thinking it. I can tell. First, it was Natalie, then this man. It’s been a while, but it could be happening again,” she says.

The waiter served as the sacrificial offering, while your latest health update… indeed, it’s a surprising blessing. Van, I kindly urge you to embrace the prospect. Taissa then ignites a candle and initiates the ceremony, murmuring, “We listen to the wilderness, and it listens to us.

After a while, the contented duo finds themselves reminiscing on TV when an advertisement for Ozzie’s Ice Cream Parlor appears. Surprisingly, the Man With No Eyes is the star of this commercial. This time, it’s not just Taissa who recognizes him – Van does as well.

In a twist of events, Tai leads them towards an ice cream shop, but alas, it’s closed. Van urges her to depart, questioning, “What on earth are you hoping to find here?” Despite being unsure herself, they decide to venture inside.

Within the confines, their eyes fall upon a fox carrying a slain rabbit. “What are you after?” Tai queries, but Van replies, “We’ve got a pretty good guess. It seems it wants more.” Gosh, Episode 4 promises to be intriguing. It appears they might soon face another potential offering.

Jackie’s heart necklace resurfaces

Regarding the others, Misty is making every effort to demonstrate to herself that her companions truly value their friendship with her.

She asks Shauna to meet up at a café, telling her she has some important information. The information is that Callie had been attempting to persuade her and Lottie to reveal their wilderness knowledge during their sleepover.

Shauna queries, “Was there a specific reason we had to come here for you to share this information?” To which Misty responds, “I simply wanted us to spend some quality time together.

Shauna attempts to dismiss Misty, but she persists in accompanying her for the day. During their drive, the brakes on Shauna’s vehicle suddenly fail, causing them to slide down a slope, barely missing head-on collisions with other cars.

Despite potential brake troubles possibly linked to their remote surroundings, Shauna suspects Misty of tampering with her vehicle and kicks her out as a result.

Upon returning home, Shauna discovers Lottie and Callie in friendly company yet again. They’re preparing dinner for both Shauna and Jeff, but the harmonious household setting is disrupted when Shauna spots Callie adorning Jackie’s heart pendant.

In reference to the memorable sacrifice scene in the Yellowjackets’ debut episode, the individual chosen was adorned with the necklace. It’s important to note that this very necklace was a good luck charm given by Jackie to Shauna at some point.

Yet, during their initial Queen of Hearts ceremony, Nat was selected and Shauna bestowed upon her a lucky necklace. It appears that whoever dons this piece of jewelry becomes the sacrifice, which makes Shauna anxious to see her daughter wearing it.

Lottie maintains that it didn’t mean what you assumed. However, Shauna is adamant and swiftly removes it from Callie’s neck, then angrily orders Lottie to “Leave my home right now!
