Get ready for the final episode of Yellowjackets Season 3, which is right on the horizon! The sneak peek video for Episode 10 hints at further violence, deception, and a resolution to one of the series’ most intriguing enigmas. Be aware: potential spoilers lie ahead for Season 3 Episode 9!
Despite the onset of summer in the ’90s timeline during Season 3, things have taken a turn for the worse for the Yellowjackets. The group’s internal conflicts have escalated, leading to a tragic demise for Coach Scott and the sudden appearance of three unanticipated individuals at an inconvenient moment.
Currently, Shauna’s behavior has significantly changed following Lottie’s tragic passing and the reappearance of Melissa, portrayed by Hilary Swank, along with the resurfacing of the DAT tape. To make matters worse, it appears adult Van has also met his end.
Ever since the debut of Yellowjackets, a single enigma has persisted as a towering question in my mind – the true faces behind the elusive personas of the Pit Girl and the Antler Queen. And oh boy, was Episode 9 of Season 3 a game-changer! (Spoiler alert for those yet to watch!)
Pit Girl and Antler Queen teased in Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 10 promo
The latest teaser for Season 3 finale seems to suggest that we’ll finally uncover two significant things. Firstly, Shauna, now in charge, comments, “It’s time to acknowledge the Wilderness properly,” followed by Lottie stating, “Another hunt is necessary.
In the new scene, the girls can be spotted picking cards, dressed identically to how they appeared in the “Pit Girl” episode from Season 1. However, there are hints suggesting that their true identities might soon be unveiled.
Towards the end of Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 9, snow begins to fall, hinting that winter has fully settled in. From what we see in the finale trailer, it appears that winter’s grip on them is firm. Since the scene involving Pit Girl takes place during winter and their rescue seems imminent according to the timeline, it suggests that their rescue may occur sooner than later.
Regarding the character known as the Antler Queen, it’s the Yellowjacket who appears to be in charge during the chase and donning an attire adorned with what seems like the Pit Girl’s hair. She makes her appearance at the very end of the finale teaser.
As a devoted fan, I’m excitedly awaiting the season 3 finale, hoping for a big reveal about this mysterious character. Her identity remains shrouded, but the intrigue deepens as we catch glimpses of her – a figure bathed in an eerie light with what seems to be claws. Could she be a figment of someone’s imagination? The suspense is killing me!
But, there could be a much more straightforward reason for the light, as one viewer proposed, “Perhaps when Lottie is hallucinating the Antler Queen at the end, it’s actually some kind of emergency lights.
This might just hit the mark. Considering that they’re about to be rescued, as indicated not only by the deadline but also because at the close of the last episode, Misty retrieved the transponder from the plane – the very same one she damaged in Season 1.
She examines its parts and comes to a conclusion, stating, “I figure out a way to lead us back home.” Only Nat is present, and he’s clearly taken aback. “Are you saying you have the transmitter?” he asks in surprise.
It’s uncertain if the others will learn about it or if Nat will disclose the information, but it appears probable that the group of girls will embark on a hunt and eventually kill the Pit Girl. However, it’s also possible that the rescue team may stumble upon them shortly after this event.
Another hint suggests that this might indeed be the situation. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Ashley Lyle – a co-creator of the series alongside Bart Nickerson – mentioned that Season 3 will be the point where they start connecting the dots, alluding to the two interwoven timelines.
The surprise rescue of the girls could make for an ideal ending for chapter three, hinting at a possible Season 4 where the storylines intertwine even more – allowing us to discover what it was like for the Yellowjackets when they re-enter reality.
This statement, as you might have guessed, is purely conjecture for now. However, if there’s one lesson we can take away from Yellowjackets, it’s that whatever the outcome may be, it’s bound to be chaotic and violent.
