xQc reveals how feud with Kai Cenat still bothers him: “I saw myself become an enemy”

In a recent interview with TopMob, popular Twitch streamer xQc discussed his well-known conflict with Kai Cenat, saying he wishes things had ended differently between the two of them.

Felix Lengyel, known as ‘xQc,’ and Kai Cenat had a public disagreement during the spring and summer of 2025. It started when xQc claimed that members of Kai’s AMP group were artificially inflating their viewership numbers, which led Kai to criticize xQc as being strange for making the accusation.

Lengyel was also worried about how AMP treated his friend and fellow streamer, Adin Ross. Despite a disagreement with Kai, Lengyel said he wasn’t bothered if Kai didn’t like him, because he wasn’t looking to work with him anyway.

The situation worsened in July when Kai Cenat publicly stated he didn’t want to associate with xQc. He explained that xQc would often send him long, detailed messages whenever they had a disagreement.

During a live stream, xQc shared text messages where he attempted to reconcile with the streamer, insisting he wasn’t secretly trying to sabotage him. It’s unclear if the streamer, Kai, ever replied to the messages.

xQc says he “feels bad” about Kai Cenat feud

In February 2026, TopMob had an exclusive interview with xQc, during which he discussed his previous conflict with Kai and shared his perspective on what happened.

I’m not pretending I don’t care what people think,” he said. “Kai and I haven’t been close lately, partly because I criticized him when he was really successful. He was getting a lot of negativity at the time – people were constantly attacking him online, especially on Twitter, where posts with almost 250,000 likes were often really harsh.”

Lengyel explained that people often shared short clips from his live streams online, and these clips were sometimes edited to make it seem like he was saying negative things about other content creators, even though that wasn’t his intention.

He explained that he seemed to be acting secretively, but he wasn’t familiar with the current trend of people on Twitter saying shockingly negative things. He was surprised to see how his words were interpreted, and realized he’d presented himself as someone his opponent would likely see as a threat.

I didn’t want to damage that relationship, and I really regretted it. It felt like cutting off something I shouldn’t have. It’s frustrating because I’ve ended other connections without much thought, but this one felt different – it wasn’t how I truly felt. Still, you learn from these experiences and have to move forward.

It’s frustrating because those guys with the clippers are so irritating. I really didn’t want to become one of them, and it felt awful. I think it’s embarrassing to act like that, and realizing I was doing it in that moment made me feel like I was stooping to a level I didn’t want to reach.

Kai Cenat hasn’t spoken publicly about his relationship with xQc in recent months, and he’s also been less visible on social media. He’s been focusing on other projects, like launching his own clothing line, and recently traveled to Nigeria to see a school he funded with a $5 million donation.
