xQc found himself in a fluster when he unintentionally activated an unrevealed game mode destined for Marvel Rivals Season 1 prematurely.
Developers of Marvel Rivals continue to fuel excitement with an action-packed Season 1 update scheduled for release on Friday, January 10. Consequently, fresh information about the update is being shared rapidly.
Information about Battle Pass previews and sneak peeks of fresh hero skins has been flowing lately. Yet, developers haven’t shared much about the upcoming game mode that will be introduced during Season 1.
Though ‘Doom Match’ is not unfamiliar to us, having a general idea about it, live-streaming sensation xQc unintentionally shattered the jar lid during a sneak peek stream. With early access to the complete Season 1 update a few days prior to its public launch, scheduled for broader distribution.
xQc accidentally loads up unreleased Marvel Rivals game mode
In the unlaunched edition of Marvel Rivals, popular streamer xQc was scheduled to engage in several custom games against other content creators and professional gamers.
For now, access is limited to those who receive invitations for these preliminary versions. Consequently, multiplayer games aren’t automated (matchmaking) but instead, it’s just private matches where both teams have enough players.
Initially, for the initial thirty minutes after starting the build, xQc was exploring various menus, examining numerous new skins and Season 1 configurations. Casually navigating through options, he inadvertently entered a game without much deliberation.
He wanted to know how to join a custom game, but he ended up selecting “Doom Match” from the practice section by mistake. In simpler terms, he was trying to find and join a custom game, but accidentally clicked on “Doom Match” which is located under the practice options.
Diving into the freshly launched Sanctum Sanctorum map, it swiftly dawned on me – I’d blundered! A wave of panic swept over me as I read the excited chatter, “New game mode? New map?” They were right! I knew I had some catching up to do if I wanted to stay ahead in this gaming world.
“I don’t want to leak anything!” xQc added, trying to back out of the mode as quickly as possible.
Although we missed out on watching an entire match unfold, it was still the initial display of the Doom Match within Marvel Rivals that we’ve witnessed so far.
In this open gameplay method, up to twelve players can gather in a room, with the main objective being to earn as many kills as possible. Once a specific kill count has been achieved, the 50% of players with the highest number of kills are declared winners.
In Season 1, we’re introducing a new game mode called “Doom Match” for Marvel Rivals. It’s a free-for-all battle with 8 to 12 participants, set in the vast Sanctum Sanctorum map. Once a certain number of knockouts (KOs) is reached, the top half of players will be declared winners.

The map for the Sanctum Sanctorum that xQc accessed seems incredibly expansive, featuring numerous portals distributed across the spawn region, each one directing towards distinct locations.
“Fired from my job?” xQc said with a smile after backing out. “All good, I’ll get a new one.
“They’re probably really mad at us. That’s all good though.”
