XDefiant player base furious as game-breaking issues persist

As a dedicated XDefiant player, I can’t help but feel disheartened by the current state of the game. The issues that have emerged since the launch of Season 1 have made playing a frustrating experience. I’ve encountered numerous bugs and glitches that have significantly impacted my gameplay, from inconsistent hit registration to abilities being stuck on cooldown or unavailable for the rest of the round.

These days, being an XDefiant player isn’t a walk in the park. Following the rollout of Season 1, numerous problematic bugs and glitches persist, some even more severe than before. Consequently, the gaming community is seething with frustration.

The lively discussion on Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter’s subreddit is filled with complaints about various problems. Players are expressing frustration over the game’s faulty net code, resulting in broken hit registration. Abilities sometimes don’t work properly, either being stuck on cooldown or unavailable for the rest of the round. The Spiderbot gadget, which many find annoying, seems impossible to counter. Adding to these issues are frequent game crashes and server problems, especially on console platforms.

Since the beginning of the game’s first battle pass season, these problems have become more noticeable. However, it’s important to remember that network code issues have been present since the game’s release in late May 2024. Therefore, the Season 1 update can’t be solely blamed for causing all these issues suddenly. Players are understandably angry and disappointed, as there is still no clear resolution or timeline for addressing the bugs and known issues that Ubisoft has acknowledged for quite some time.

A significant concern in more recent games is the problem of certain character abilities becoming unavailable for the remainder of the round after being used only a few times. These special abilities, which differentiate the various characters and factions within XDefiant, are essential elements of the game’s unique experience. Not having them function at all significantly disrupts the gameplay and requires an immediate solution.

Some people on the game’s Reddit forum have expressed concerns about a decreasing player base. Meanwhile, certain YouTube creators are sensing trouble and declaring that “XDefiant Has Already Died.” However, it is essential to note that these observations are based on anecdotal evidence.

Around two months after the game’s release, it’s worrying to see so many complaints about the game’s net code being flawed and how a highly anticipated Season 1 update could potentially disrupt essential features like most characters’ special abilities. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 set to be released in roughly three months, Ubisoft has limited time left to address these concerns and regain the community’s trust.

If you’re wondering where to find killcams in XDefiant, keep an eye out as Executive Producer has confirmed on GamerTop that this popular feature will be arriving in XDefiant very soon.
