In 2020, Microsoft introduced Xbox Cloud Gaming, enabling gamers to stream titles from their Xbox Game Pass collection. However, not every game was included in the Game Pass library, thereby restricting the games that could be played. Currently, it is rumored that Microsoft intends to extend its streaming services to encompass games that are not part of Xbox Game Pass, provided they belong to the players personally.
As a devoted gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that, based on The Verge’s latest report, Microsoft is preparing to trial an exciting new feature on their Xbox Cloud Gaming servers as early as next month! This development, which the company has been gradually working towards, involves enhancing the service’s capabilities to support a vast array of games. However, before making it available to Game Pass subscribers, they want to ensure that these upgraded features can withstand the stress test, hence the trial period with Xbox Insiders.
This week, Xbox announced that starting in November, gamers can purchase or play Xbox games directly on the Xbox App for Android devices. Once the streaming feature is activated, purchases made on Android will instantly become accessible for streaming across all compatible devices. As a result of Epic Games‘ legal victory against Google, Microsoft will bypass Google Play, thereby avoiding any fees that Google might otherwise charge for these transactions.
Furthermore, Microsoft intends to develop an Xbox mobile store application. Initially, this app will concentrate on discounts and in-game goods. Over time, it is expected to incorporate Microsoft’s own games as well. At present, the rollout of the new Xbox mobile store has not been announced.
