As a seasoned gamer with decades of console war tales under my belt, I must say this latest Xbox update has me buzzing like a level 100 achievement unlocked! The integration of Discord streams on Xbox consoles is not just another upgrade; it’s a game-changer.
On Xbox consoles, we can expect further enhancements in the Discord integration as Microsoft introduces new features for its Insider program this week. Starting from now, users in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings will be able to watch Discord streams directly on their Xbox. However, it’s currently unclear when these updates will become available to the public at large.
Additionally, Microsoft announced that linking your Discord and Xbox accounts allows your Discord friends to show up in your Friends list. You’ll see them when you’re playing a game or using a voice channel on Discord. This feature enables Xbox users to join Discord voice channels without needing the app on their smartphone or computer.
Approximately two years ago, Discord made its debut on Xbox. In September of last year, Xbox introduced a feature that enabled gamers to broadcast their gameplay on Discord.
Back in June, I was thrilled about the latest Xbox update that rolled out. Microsoft didn’t disappoint, offering a host of new personalization features for my Xbox background, making it even more unique. Plus, they made it easier than ever to handle my subscriptions right from the console itself! It’s amazing how much better my gaming experience has become with these improvements.

The sales of Xbox Series X|S hardware have dropped substantially, according to Microsoft’s earnings call, with a decrease of 42% in their fourth quarter compared to last year. Lastly, a new translucent Xbox controller is expected to be released in August.
