Xbox Showcases Will Now Have PlayStation And Nintendo Logos

In the future, you’ll notice that alongside the Xbox logo, Microsoft will display the PlayStation and Nintendo emblems during their gaming exhibitions as well.

In a recent interview with Xbox Era, Xbox boss Phil Spencer stated, “I aim for transparency when it comes to our game distribution. For games shipped on the Nintendo Switch, you’ll see our logo there. Similarly, for releases on PlayStation, Steam, and other platforms, that will be clear as well. However, I want people to enjoy the Xbox community within our games and all our offerings across every screen possible.

He shared that negotiations for incorporating these logos occurred in June, however, when Microsoft was ready to make its decision, the assets were not yet prepared. Furthermore, he emphasized Xbox’s multi-platform strategy, which enables Microsoft to develop larger games while simultaneously catering to their own hardware and platform services.

During gaming events hosted by platform providers such as PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox, you’ll often see their respective emblems displayed alongside game trailers, regardless of whether these games are available on multiple platforms. For instance, during Sony’s State of Play event, only PS4 and PS5 logos appeared at the conclusion of each trailer, while Nintendo Direct presentations showcase exclusively the Switch logo.

At its latest event, the January 2025 Developer Direct from Xbox, Microsoft announced that the games they showcased would also be released on platforms such as PS5 and PC. Among these are Ninja Gaiden 4, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Doom: The Dark Ages.

Spencer has mentioned that he’s no longer attempting to migrate PS5 gamers to Xbox, but rather engaging with them on their platform instead.
