Xbox Insiders Can Now Stream Xbox Console-Only Games On PC

Microsoft recently expanded its “Stream Your Own Game” function, enabling Xbox Insiders to broadcast their Xbox games on a personal computer.

Previously, one could only stream games from the Xbox Game Pass library. However, the new “Stream your own game” option enables users to broadcast console games they personally own. This feature was first introduced to TVs, browsers on compatible devices last November, and later to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles in April. Now, it’s being extended to PC users as well.

For Xbox Insiders who are also Game Pass Ultimate members, there’s an option to stream your own games directly. This service can be accessed through the Xbox PC application in all 28 countries that support Xbox Cloud Gaming. The beauty of it is that you don’t need to install anything; simply open the app and pick one from over 250 compatible titles to start streaming immediately.

Using the Xbox PC app, you can now access games that weren’t playable before. Yet, it’s important to note that as of now, the selection doesn’t include older games exclusive to original Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles. However, the selection is expanding over time.

The Xbox PC app has received one of numerous enhancements, featuring a compact Game Bar mode, a unified home user interface, an overhauled Game Bar and widgets, and the Microsoft Edge Game Assist.

This event coincides with Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere program, where a single purchase grants access to play the same titles across various devices. These devices encompass the forthcoming Xbox ROG Ally Windows handhelds set to release this holiday season. Notably, these devices will support native Xbox for PC games and games from other popular PC gaming platforms such as Steam, as well.
