Xbox boss lifts lid on next-gen Xbox amid rumors of PC & console hybrid

Sarah Bond, President of Xbox, has suggested that Microsoft’s next gaming platform will likely combine elements of both PC and console gaming, building on the recent release of their handheld device.

Although the Xbox Series X is relatively new – only five years old – gamers are already wondering what Microsoft might be planning for its next console. This speculation has increased since the release of the Asus ROG Ally X, a handheld gaming device that costs almost $1000 – significantly more than a traditional console.

Okay, so the reason this thing costs more is because they’re using parts you’d usually find in a gaming PC, not a console. It’s a bit of a jump in price, but it makes sense when you realize they’re going with higher-end components.

During interviews with Variety and Mashable, the President of Xbox revealed that the company is already working on the next generation of hardware. They’ve begun the process of creating prototypes and designs for it.

Bond was also asked by Mashable about reports that the next console will be exceptionally powerful and function more like a gaming PC than a traditional console.
