WWE’s CM Punk Explains How He’s Approaching His Acting Career After Night Patrol

For years, professional wrestlers have occasionally taken on acting roles. However, lately, we’ve seen more wrestlers leave organizations like WWE to pursue acting as a full-time career in Hollywood. CM Punk is currently doing both – he recently appeared in the horror film Night Patrol and discussed his acting ambitions with TopMob.

I asked Punk about his acting ambitions after he mentioned when he planned to retire. I wondered if he’d follow in the footsteps of other wrestlers-turned-actors like John Cena, Dwayne Johnson, and Dave Bautista and focus on acting full-time. While he didn’t necessarily say he would, the WWE Heavyweight Champion did express interest in taking on more roles in movies and television.

I’m eager to keep working and try different kinds of projects. Right now, I’m filming a romantic comedy, which I think will surprise people and challenge me as an actor. Honestly, I want to do everything! When people ask me what I’m hoping to do next, my honest answer is – all of it.

CM Punk, known for his role as a racist vampire cop in Night Patrol, is also starring in a romantic comedy coming to Netflix. He’s been steadily building his acting resume with appearances in shows like Heels and Mayans M.C., and it seems he’s focused on staying consistently employed as an actor.

A Child Asked John Cena If He Liked Wrestling Or Acting More, And His Answer Was Brutally Honest

He’s been incredibly busy, balancing a full-time job with WWE and taking on acting roles. The most surprising thing he revealed was that he filmed scenes for Night Patrol during his famous rivalry with Drew McIntyre. It’s amazing to think he wrestled in that incredibly tough Hell in a Cell match while also filming and acting with Justin Long. That match was particularly brutal – Drew McIntyre actually needed sixteen staples in his head afterward.

Actors often find ways to keep working, and I wouldn’t be surprised if CM Punk showed up in a Marvel movie soon. He’s a big fan of Marvel – he’s even written comics and used a famous Fantastic Four phrase, “It’s clobberin’ time!” It would be great to see him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially considering his wrestling rival, Seth Rollins, didn’t make the final cut of Captain America: Brave New World.

It would be really funny to see a wrestling rivalry start within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And with the Fantastic Four now part of the MCU, bringing in CM Punk for a cameo seems totally doable – as long as Doctor Doom doesn’t defeat them first!

CM Punk is currently starring in Night Patrol, which is playing in theaters now. If you’re a fan of great horror films, this movie is worth seeing – it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a vampire film that felt so original.
