WWE Sets ‘Saturday Night’s Main Event’ Return Date on NBC, Peacock (EXCLUSIVE)

As a long-time fan of WWE and someone who has cherished memories of staying up late on Saturdays to watch “Saturday Night’s Main Event,” I am absolutely thrilled about its return! The nostalgia is strong with this one, as I remember the first time I watched it at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum back in 1985. It feels like a full-circle moment to see it coming back to the same venue.

WWE‘s iconic series “Saturday Night’s Main Event” has set its return premiere date at NBC.

EbMaster has discovered that the professional wrestling show will be broadcast live on NBC and simultaneously on Peacock at 8 p.m. ET on December 14th. The event will take place at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Long Island, New York, which was the location of the very first “Saturday Night’s Main Event” in 1985.

WWE has also released the first promo video for the show, which can be seen below.

The presale for the event starts on September 19th, 10 a.m. Eastern Time. If you’d like to get an exclusive presale offer, you can sign up to do so right away by going to the WWE’s official website.

You can purchase tickets starting September 20th at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Ticketmaster. Priority access is currently available through the partnership between WWE and On Location. These passes grant perks such as premium seating, hospitality events with WWE celebrities, exclusive photo opportunities, and additional benefits.

The first out of four annual prime-time specials by WWE for NBC is about to commence. This was initially announced when WWE sealed a fresh five-year contract with NBCUniversal, causing their weekly “SmackDown” series to revert back to USA Network. Since 2019, “SmackDown” had been airing on Fox, but it returned to USA Network on September 13. Additionally, Peacock remains the platform for live streaming premium WWE events in the U.S., with upcoming events like “Bad Blood” and “Crown Jewel.

Originally airing late at night on NBC, ‘Saturday Night’s Main Event’ was shown during weeks when ‘Saturday Night Live’ didn’t have new episodes. From 1985 to 1991, it aired almost 30 shows on this network. It later appeared twice on Fox in 1992. The show was resurrected at NBC for five more episodes between 2006 and 2008.
