WWE 2K25’s Showcase Mode Will Let You Relive–And Change–Bloodline History

Similar to previous installments, WWE 2K25 offers a Showcase mode where fans can reenact iconic matches from the past. Effectively an interactive history lesson, this year’s 2K Showcase: The Bloodline Dynasty, hosted by Paul Heyman, gives players the opportunity to change the results of these historic bouts.

This journey through wrestling nostalgia presents a variety of iconic fights, such as Yokozuna’s legendary clash with Hulk Hogan at the 1993 King of the Ring, the rough-and-tumble No Disqualification match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Rikishi, and the epic confrontation between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins at the 2022 Royal Rumble.

As a history enthusiast, I’ve come to realize that each game we play falls into one of three captivating categories – Reliving Past Glories, Altering the Course of History, and Crafting New Legends. So far, a total of 15 games from this intriguing lineup have been unveiled! Here’s the complete rundown:

1. Relive Past Glories:
– Battle of Waterloo (1815)
– American Civil War (1861-1865)
– The Great Fire of London (1666)

2. Alter the Course of History:
– Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand (1914)
– The D-Day Invasion (1944)
– The Moon Landing (1969)

3. Craft New Legends:
– The Fall of the Berlin Wall (1989)
– The Collapse of Communism in Russia (1991)
– The Arab Spring (2011)

In previous WWE 2K games, Showcase Mode was a major feature, spotlighting a single superstar. However, this year’s version deviates significantly by focusing on the Anoa’i family instead. The recent years of WWE programming have seen stars like Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and many other members of this wrestling dynasty gain prominence. Notably, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the late Umaga, and the Wild Samoans have all received acclaim for their significant impact on the sports entertainment industry.

In addition to the Showcase mode, WWE 2K25 offers another exciting feature: sailing over to The Island, a social area reminiscent of NBA 2K’s The City. Here, you can engage in custom exhibition matches and embark on your journey towards greatness through the MyRise mode. WWE 2K25 is scheduled to release for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4 on March 14. However, those who buy the Deadman Edition or The Bloodline Edition will get early access starting March 7.

Mark Delaney expressed his positive first impressions of WWE 2K25 in TopMob’s preview, highlighting an engaging Showcase topic, exciting match types, and stylish camera controls. He hinted at more to explore, such as story-driven MyRise, card-collecting MyFaction, and the potentially game-changing new social space called The Island. He plans to reserve his final judgment until he reviews the game later this year.
