Promos Return to WWE 2K25, with five different promo types for players to perform:
- Self-Promos – Create challenges for your Superstar to fulfill in your next match. If you succeed, you’ll earn benefits, but if you fail, you’ll receive a penalty.
- You can view these challenges in the Rivalry overview before and during a match.
- Some of the challenges include winning matches, winning by submission, winning with high health, under five minutes, and much more.
- Call-Out – You call out your Rival to the ring, who will either respond or not show up. If you confront each other, it can lead to a 1 future 1v1 match, while a no-show leads to an immediate 1v1 or brawl.
- Promo Interrupt – Superstar walks in on their rival’s promo, leading to a 1v1, no match, immediate match, or brawl
- Issue Open Challenge – Throw an open challenge to any Superstar. You will not know who your opponent is until their match entrance. Winning provides you with more benefits.
- Accept Open Challenge – Superstar accepts an open challenge from their rival, with benefits for winning.
These promotions fall under the category of Rivalry actions, offering additional animations and fresh commentary. Nevertheless, the game provides numerous innovative methods to generate genuine moments inside the ring.
Calendars & Shows
In WWE 2K25, there are some improvements made to the management of schedules and show setups. Now, you have the ability to schedule up to three shows per day, and you can arrange the sequence of these shows according to your preference. The possibilities for combinations are endless.
As a fan, I’m excited to share that starting from now, Major and Minor shows will be scheduled for Sundays. On the other hand, PLE shows can be arranged from Monday through Saturday. Interestingly, PLE shows can last for two days, giving us a chance to put together some amazing shows. The second day doesn’t necessarily follow the next day, and the schedule will be distributed evenly across both nights.
You have the flexibility to change Programmed Learning Events (PLEs) within your calendar, shifting shows to various days. Moreover, our Universe Calendar will soon accommodate Tournament PLEs with additional features.
Team Management
In WWE 2K25’s Universe Mode, there’s a fresh team management setup that lets you place various Superstars across several groups. Additionally, every team member can be given a unique role, which you can tailor according to your strategy.
- Singles – Prioritizes singles and free-for-all matches
- Tag – Prioritizes two-person tag matches and eligible for tag division championships with another tag-role team member
- Trio – Prioritizes three-person team matches
- Quad – Prioritizes for four-person team matches
- Manager – Prioritizes manager role for fellow team members’ matches
Now, teams can organize smaller subgroups, known as lineups, consisting of three or more individuals from the main team. Each lineup has its own identity with distinctive names, announcements, entrances, and other special features to set them apart.
Matchmaking & Intergender
As a dedicated gamer diving into WWE 2K25, I’ve noticed some fantastic changes in the matchmaking system. It seems like they’ve given it an overhaul for better stability and reliability, making my gaming experience smoother than ever. The developers have also introduced a fresh scoring & sorting mechanism that considers various aspects of each bout, ranging from Superstar ratings to the style of matches. This new system is thoughtfully designed to ensure a balanced and engaging gameplay for all.
In an exciting update, Table Match Templates have been introduced for customization, offering greater flexibility in tailoring your gaming experience. Additionally, the game universe of WWE 2K25 will incorporate the latest match types such as Underground and Bloodline Rules, expanding the variety of gameplay options available to you.
In simpler terms, we’ve added a new “Main Event” tab to Match Tables, which gives you more flexibility when you want to highlight specific types or groups of matches as the main event for a show. If the Main Event match table is empty, the regular Match Table will be used instead to decide the main event. This feature also extends to Intergender matches, and you can even establish an Intergender division & championship.
In summary, here’s all you require to grasp the workings of WWE 2K25 Universe Mode. We eagerly await further revelations from the developers as we approach the game’s launch this month. The developers are planning to share one more Ringside Report prior to the official game release.
Additionally, don’t forget to explore more details about WWE 2K25. In the past few weeks, the development team has shared quite a bit of information regarding the roster and various insights from ringside. Catch you in the arena next month!
