In simple terms, the WWE 2K24 DLC known as “The Pat McAfee Show Pack” was the third additional content pack released in this year’s Season Pass on July 31, 2024. Unfortunately, at first, PlayStation 5 users faced an issue where Season Pass holders couldn’t access the DLC, but the developers corrected it by August 1, 2024.

This new DLC adds five new playable characters:

  • Pat McAfee – 80 OVR | Striker | Light Heavyweight
  • AJ Hawk – 78 OVR | Powerhouse | Heavyweight
  • Boston Connor – 71 OVR | High Flyer | Heavyweight
  • Darius Butler – 78 OVR | High Flyer | Cruiserweight
  • Ty Schmit – 69 OVR | Technician | Light Heavyweight

The DLC pack also adds the following MyFACTION cards to your collection:

  • Amethyst 85 OVR Pat McAfee
  • Amethyst 85 OVR AJ Hawk
  • Amethyst 85 OVR Boston Connor
  • Amethyst 85 OVR Darius Butler
  • Amethyst 85 OVR Ty Schmit

Instead of saying, “The DLC pack comes with the game’s Season Pass,” you could phrase it as, “The game’s Season Pass includes the DLC pack.” This way, it becomes clearer that the DLC pack is part of the Season Pass.

Five fresh wrestling stars are now part of the game’s extensive collection of playable characters, making this installment in the WWE series more jam-packed than any other in its history. Additionally, they’ve revamped their move sets, introduced new weapons, new entrance gestures and themes, and improved animations.

Pat McAfee makes his long-awaited WWE 2K24 debut, but not all is good

Since 2018, Pat McAfee has been associated with the WWE. Despite participating in numerous storylines and having a few matches, he had never been featured in a WWE 2K video game until recently. Though fans were excited about the prospect of playing as their favorite commentator in the game, there seems to be some discontent among the community regarding his co-stars.

It’s logical to include McAfee given his involvement, but his friends don’t seem to fit the same bill. Few, if any, of his friends have had significant appearances on WWE shows that would justify their inclusion. Additionally, some fans believe that certain wrestlers, especially legends and up-and-coming NXT stars, were unfairly left out in favor of these inclusions.

In the midst of the ongoing debate, Pat asserted his stance by declaring that he wouldn’t join a WWE video game unless his entire group was included alongside him. He added that he was indifferent about not being part of the game initially, as his decision could have gone either way. Moreover, he emphasized that their inclusion didn’t affect the roster size or availability.

Critics, including fans, argued against McAfee’s assertion that his team’s presence didn’t overshadow others, stating that traditionally, WWE 2K games include five DLC packs within their Season Passes. They suggested that if McAfee’s crew hadn’t been included, there would have been room for an additional five wrestlers who they believed were more deserving to be featured in the game.

Right now, you can grab WWE 2K24 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X. It’s currently garnering an 81 Metascore at Metacritic, and our review of WWE 2K24 awards it a 9/10.
