buildARocketBoy recently rolled out its second update for MindsEye, as they diligently work on resolving the problems that have made it this year’s least favorably reviewed game.
Upon its release on June 10, it soon became evident that MindsEye encountered numerous problems. Its outdated gaming structure, combined with unstable frame rates and frequent gameplay and visual glitches, caused quite a stir. This led Sony to offer refunds for the game on PS5, while Build a Rocket Boy assured players they were working diligently to resolve these issues.
As a gamer, I’ve been keeping up with the game, and it seems like they’ve been rolling out some hotfix updates to smooth things out. Today, we got Hotfix #2, which is all about enhancing performance, sorting out issues with NPC and enemy AI behavior, and squashing several bugs that have been causing trouble. If you want to know exactly what’s been fixed, check out the full list of patch notes for Hotfix #2 down below.

At the moment, MindsEye has a combined score of 36 on Metacritic, which is TopMob’s sister site. This places it as the lowest-rated game released in 2025. In their review, TopMob criticizes MindsEye heavily, stating that “Stunning visuals fail to make up for a lack of depth, whether it be the empty world, boring combat, or any of numerous glaring flaws.
MindsEye is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
