Woody Harrelson Turned Down ‘White Lotus’ Season 3 Role Due to a ‘Family Vacation’: ‘An Extremely Hard Decision’

Woody Harrelson nearly traveled to Thailand with Mike White for “The White Lotus” Season 3, but unfortunately, his personal family holiday arrangements conflicted.

It was rumored that Harrelson declined the roles of Rick or Frank due to a producer’s policy ensuring equal pay for all “White Lotus” cast members. However, in an announcement made to The Daily Beast, Harrelson clarified that he opted out of “The White Lotus” because he had a planned family vacation instead.

He was all geared up for working on ‘White Lotus’, and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, their production schedule changed, which clashed with a prior family trip I had planned, leaving me with a tough choice to make. It seems as though things were meant to work out this way, because there’s no doubt that Sam is doing an exceptional job in my place.

It appears that things were destined to unfold this way, as there’s no denying that Sam is delivering an outstanding performance in my stead.
