Instead of laboring or idling, Woody Harrelson apparently opts for the latter. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Harrelson explained why he’s not in The White Lotus season 3: it would have interfered with a genuine family vacation. Initially, Harrelson was up for playing the role that eventually went to Sam Rockwell, known as “path of degradation” Buddhist Frank. Contrary to rumors suggesting he declined because of pay disparities, Harrelson clarified that it was due to scheduling conflicts with his previously planned family vacation. He stated, “I was all set to do The White Lotus and was very excited. Sadly, their production schedule clashed with a pre-arranged family vacation, leaving me with a challenging decision to make.” It seems things were meant to be, as Harrelson acknowledged that Rockwell’s performance in the show is exceptional. Given the reported tumultuous production of The White Lotus season 3, as described by Jason Isaacs, one might argue that Harrelson made the right choice by spending time with his family instead. Indeed, Rockwell delivered an impressive monologue during the series.
