Following our spooky Halloween challenge in Cookie Jam, we’re back to our regular mix of puzzles! We’ve already tackled clues like “Find the right [blank] for success” and “Spears used in track and field.” Now, if you’re having trouble with the clue “A texture that’s sticky, thick, and soft,” here’s a hint to help you out.
Answer to “A texture sticky, thick and soft” in Cookie Jam
Okay, so figuring out the right word to describe this texture? It could’ve been tricky, but thankfully it wasn’t a huge list of options. This Cookie Jam puzzle wasn’t too bad, honestly – I figured it out pretty quickly!
- A texture sticky, thick and soft – Gooey
The word “gooey” describes something that’s soft, sticky, and a little bit thick – think of how things stretch, stick, or slowly change shape when you touch them. We often use it to talk about foods like melted chocolate, caramel, and marshmallows, but it can also describe things like glue or slime.
I was curious about the word “gooey” the other day, and it turns out it’s pretty simple! It all started with the word “goo,” which showed up in the English language way back in the early 1800s. “Goo” described something soft, sticky, and a little slimy. Then, people just added “-y” to it to make it an adjective – basically, anything that acts like goo, we call “gooey!” So, “gooey” really just means “like goo.” Who knew?
