Woman tried to go shopping at TV set with fake store listed on Google Maps

After a woman attempted to shop at a television-set imitation store that was not real, Google Maps found it necessary to delete the false location from its map.

In today’s world with numerous navigation apps available, it’s essential to choose one that is dependable and current, ensuring you truly reach your intended destination.

When it comes to navigation, Google Maps is usually the first choice for many people, but occasionally, locations may not be entirely current. In an unusual instance in Ireland, a lady’s intended destination turned out to be a part of a television studio that was erroneously shown as a genuine store on the map.

As per RTE’s account, a woman showed up on the set of their series, Fair City, intending to shop at Lidl after finding it on Google Maps. The store, situated beyond Dublin, appears in the show for product placement purposes and doesn’t actually exist.

Eventually, the woman under discussion encountered an editor from RTE, who informed her that the shop in question was a false listing on Maps.

David Murphy posted on X that he encountered a woman outside RTE, attempting to shop at the Lidl located on the Fair City set tonight. According to Google Maps, it’s there. He offered her directions to Tesco instead.

The amusing incident has spread rapidly across social media platforms, sparking laughter and jest as several users make light of the woman’s misfortune.

In Ireland, it was pointed out. “I find that hard to believe,” was the response from someone else. “She seemed to be picking up a shopping cart, but instead, she found herself in a plot twist…”, Lidl humorously replied.

Thought she was getting a trolley, ended up in a storyline…
