As a cinephile who’s seen more than a few Hollywood sequels that never quite lived up to their originals, I can’t help but feel a tinge of disappointment at the news that the “Wolfs” sequel is no longer happening. George Clooney and Brad Pitt together on screen? That was a combination I was eagerly anticipating.
It has been discovered that three months after Apple agreed a deal with director Jon Watts for a follow-up to his crime film “Wolfs,” starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, the production of this sequel has been put on hold, according to recent information.
The confirmation that the project is no longer in the works comes after Collider published an interview with Watts Friday morning, in which the filmmaker stated, “I don’t know what I’m directing next, and I don’t think there’s going to be a ‘Wolfs’ sequel.” EbMaster has since confirmed with sources that plans have been scrapped.
Apple TV+ did not immediately respond for comment.
