Wolfenstein 3 Is In The Works, Multiple Reports Say

MachineGames, the studio behind Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, is reportedly developing a third new Wolfenstein game. Both Windows Central and Kotaku have reported on the project, though specific details are currently unknown.

This will be the first new Wolfenstein title since 2019, when both Wolfenstein: Youngblood and the VR game Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot came out.

In September 2025, Axel Torvenius, the creative director at MachineGames, expressed his desire to tell more of the story of William “B.J.” Blazkowicz in a future Wolfenstein game – a third installment in the series.

In a Noclip documentary about Wolfenstein, Jerk Torvenius explained that the team always envisioned the series as a three-part story. From the very beginning, when they were planning Wolfenstein: The New Order, they had a complete arc in mind for B.J. Blazkowicz, including what would happen in the second and third games. He hopes this means there’s still more to come for Wolfenstein, as they have further stories they want to tell.

MachineGames might reveal a new Wolfenstein game – possibly the final installment in their trilogy – at either the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct event or the predicted Xbox showcase this summer, but this is currently speculation.

In addition to a potential new Wolfenstein video game, Amazon’s Prime Video is developing a live-action Wolfenstein TV series. Details about the show are currently unknown, as the project is in its early stages.

The Wolfenstein games are set in a fictional history where Germany won World War II thanks to a breakthrough in technology. The series began in 1981, but it was Wolfenstein 3D, released in 1992 by Id Software, that really launched the first-person shooter genre and became incredibly popular in the ’90s.
