‘Wolf Man’ New Trailer: Christopher Abbott Transforms Into a Werewolf and Terrorizes His Family in Horror Remake

As a seasoned moviegoer with a penchant for horror films and a soft spot for classic monster stories, I must say that the latest trailer for “Wolf Man” has me quite intrigued. The blend of modern storytelling and the timeless allure of the werewolf mythology is an enticing proposition.

Blumhouse unveiled a fresh trailer for their contemporary reimagining of the iconic Universal creature, “The Wolf Man.” Set to premiere in cinemas on January 17th.

In this rephrased version, Christopher Abbott portrays the main character, a werewolf, who causes distress to his loved ones, including his family and spouse, who is brilliantly played by Julia Garner, well-known for her role in “Ozark”.

“The movie focuses on Blake (Abbott), a San Francisco husband and father, who unexpectedly inherits his old rural Oregon home after his dad disappears and is thought to be dead. With his marriage to Charlotte (Garner) in trouble, he convinces her to take a break from city life and visit the property with their daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth). However, as they arrive at the farmhouse late at night, they’re attacked by an unknown creature, forcing them to barricade themselves inside. As the night continues, Blake starts acting strangely, turning into something unsettling, and Charlotte must decide if the threat within their home is more dangerous than the danger lurking outside.

The family experiences a horrific car accident in the movie preview, followed by the character Blake from Abbott being assaulted by an unidentified beast. Gradually, he starts showing signs of infection, developing sharp claws and fur, and losing his ability to communicate with his spouse. Towards the end of the clip, a glimpse of the classic Wolf Man appearance can be noticed as Abbott lunges at his wife, who desperately tries to escape in a pickup truck.

Wolf Man” is led by director Leigh Whannell, who co-created the hit series “Saw” and directed the 2020 horror success “The Invisible Man,” earning $144 million at the worldwide box office. The production of the film is being handled by Jason Blum, with “Wolf Man” being a joint effort between Blumhouse Productions and Motel Movies. Ryan Gosling (originally cast), Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell are serving as executive producers.
