‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ Sets October Premiere Date, Raven-Symoné and Danielle Fishel to Direct

As a movie reviewer with a heart full of nostalgia and a memory brimming with Disney magic, I must say that the return of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” feels like a sweet homecoming. Having grown up watching Selena Gomez’s Alex Russo weave her way through wizardry and life, it’s heartwarming to see her revisit this childhood gift, now bestowed upon a new generation of young viewers.

The follow-up show titled “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” – a continuation of the original Disney Channel production, “Wizards of Waverly Place,” is set to air for the first time on the channel starting from October.

On October 29th, starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Disney Channel will debut the first two episodes of a new series. Following this, you’ll be able to stream the first eight episodes on both Disney+ and Disney Channel On Demand, beginning the next day.

After the initial broadcast of the network, two fresh episodes, one of which is a Halloween special, will air back-to-back on October 30th. Starting from November 8th, episode releases will shift to every Friday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with two episodes per week being released.

Raven-Symoné (“Raven’s Home”) and Danielle Fishel (“Girl Meets World”) will also take on the role of directors for some episodes during the first season.

“The show ‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ centers around Justin Russo, now a grown man (played by David Henrie), who prefers to live a regular, human life with his family: Giada, Roman, and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex (Selena Gomez) brings Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown) to their home needing aid, Justin recognizes he must reactivate his magical abilities to guide the budding wizard, all while managing his daily obligations and ensuring the safety of the Wizard World.”

The main cast includes Henrie, LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele playing Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos portraying Giada Russo. In the initial episode, Gomez will make a special appearance as Alex.

Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas are both writers and executive producers for the project, alongside executive producers Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Gomez, and Henrie. In addition, Andy Fickman directed the pilot episode and will be responsible for directing several more episodes as an executive producer.

As a movie enthusiast, stepping onto the set of the Wizarding series once more felt incredibly nostalgic and comforting, almost as if I had returned home. It’s a joy I can hardly express to have the opportunity to share this magical gift, one that was bestowed upon me during my own childhood, with a new generation of young viewers.
