Winnie-the-Pooh and Steamboat Willie Face Off in ‘The Dark Domain: MVW Mickey-Vs-Winnie’ Trailer — a Public Domain Horror Crossover (EXCLUSIVE)

In essence, the public domain is like an expansive celestial film studio – a place where all creative works reside freely, allowing characters from various backgrounds to meet legally on screen. Untouchables Entertainment has spotted this as a creative opportunity and has unveiled the first trailer for “The Shadow Realm: MVW Showdown,” which presents an eerie interpretation of events. This film pits Mickey Mouse, from Disney’s “Steamboat Willie,” against Winnie-the-Pooh in a chilling confrontation. A group of childhood friends find themselves as the unwitting victims, caught up in this haunting encounter.

This movie, self-proclaimed as the first crossover film within the public domain and aiming to establish a “Dark Domain Universe,” unfolds within the treacherous Hell Forest and introduces terrifying creatures like The Stitcher, Hellshadowers, and The Wickeds. Alongside our protagonists, Dark Mickey (Daniel Wilkinson) and Dark Winnie (Chris Boudreaux), these monsters engage in fierce battles reminiscent of the horror duels between Freddy and Jason or Alien and Predator. Interestingly, the film’s debut does not associate Mickey with his usual name “Mouse,” as only the Mickey character from Walt Disney’s 1928 “Steamboat Willie” short has entered the public domain.

Glenn Douglas Packard is the director of “The Dark Domain: MVW Mickey-vs-Winnie,” a movie that was captured by cinematographer Andy Patch, who has previously worked with “Little Bites.” The film boasts makeup created by Emmy award-winning artist Daniel Phillips, known for his work on “The Hobbit” series and “Oz the Great and Powerful.

Packard expressed that it’s delightful to breathe life into beloved characters from A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh and the classic Steamboat Willie Mickey, and fashion a chilling new realm out of them. The movie we’re making is reminiscent of an alternate reality, where these public domain icons engage in a terrifying battle similar to Freddy vs. Jason.

Horror movie creators have quickly seized the opportunity to reimagine beloved characters like Steamboat Willie and Winnie-the-Pooh, giving them a darker twist on their well-known, childlike personas. In April, Iconic Events Releasing will premiere “Screamboat,” a horror take on the original Disney short featuring David Howard Thornton from the “Terrifier” series as the murderous mouse character. Additionally, Jagged Edge Productions has already released two films in their “Winnie-the-Pooh” horror franchise titled “Blood and Honey,” with plans to produce a third installment.

Packard is symbolized as the MTA, while Boudreaux is associated with HRI Talent, and Wilkinson is linked to TMH Management. (In this sentence, “symbolized”, “associated with” and “linked to” are used instead of “represented by”.)
