Showrunners Liz Heldens, Daniel T. Thomsen, and Karine Rosenthal recently told Variety that Amanda will die on the show and Sonja Sohn will not return for season 5 of Will Trent. Amanda recently faced a life-threatening situation in the season 3 finale of Will Trent. After that episode, viewers had to wait through the entire summer and into the fall to find out what happened to her, especially since the show first aired in the winter, around the same time as The Rookie. The most recent episode of season 4 left Amanda’s fate uncertain, ending with Wilbur simply embracing his wounded boss and mentor. While fans hoped she would pull through, a recent interview now strongly suggests she didn’t survive her injuries.
