Will Nicholas Hoult star in the Harry Potter TV series? The actor once fought for the role of Harry, for which he’s “a little bit too old,” but fans have another character for him

A significant number of up-and-coming actors auditioned for principal roles in the Harry Potter film series. Among them was Nicholas Hoult, who will soon be seen as Lex Luthor in an upcoming Superman movie. However, he did not ultimately appear in any of the Harry Potter films.

During a recent conversation with Today, he was questioned about potential involvement in a Harry Potter television series, where fresh talent is yet to be found even for upcoming seasons. Houlton quipped, “I’m just a tad too old to portray Harry at this point.

I deeply admire Mark [Mylod] as a director, and I cherish the kind of tales he creates. However, I believe I’ve grown past the age where I could convincingly portray Harry in a project.

In their conversation, Craig Melvin, interviewing Hoult, proposed that the actor consider portraying a different character. However, instead of elaborating on the topic, he simply responded by mentioning there are “many intriguing stories.” Interestingly, Mark Mylod – a director with whom Hoult has worked before in ‘The Menu’ and is now an executive producer and director for some episodes of the ‘Harry Potter’ TV series – shares a close professional relationship with him. It’s possible that they might collaborate again in the future.

Although the role that he didn’t secure in his younger years has become unattainable, it doesn’t signify that there’s no place for him within the sprawling Harry Potter universe. In fact, the series boasts a host of adult characters, and fans have already envisioned Daniel Radcliffe’s compatriot, Hoult, in various roles such as James Potter, Sirius Black, or Gilderoy Lockhart.

Although the initial thought might strike you as unusual, examining recent images of Hoult with his new blond hair may help visualize this casting option. However, it appears that the other two roles are particularly fitting for him. He could convincingly portray both Harry’s father and godfather.
