Are you also tearing up watching the farewell scene of Elphaba and Glinda in the Wicked: For Good trailer? Amidst the sobs, there’s a major clue for Boq’s fate hinted in the trailer if you’re familiar with the musical.
Right now is an exceptional moment to be passionate about musical theater, as the first part of “Wicked” swept across the globe, and fortunately, they filmed the last chapter simultaneously.
Even though it’s not here yet, we’ll have to be patient until November for the entire production. If you’re familiar with the musical, you’ll catch a glimpse of what’s ahead, despite director Jon M. Chu possibly adding some imaginative twists along the way.
Though we need to hold on until November, the final product will be unveiled then. If you’re acquainted with the musical, you can predict what might unfold, although director Jon M. Chu may introduce some creative modifications.
If you’ve yet to see it, the Wicked: For Good trailer may seem overly expository. If you wish to avoid a significant plot reveal regarding the character Boq, it’s best to steer clear of it at this time.
If you havenāt seen the musical, donāt watch the Wicked: For Good trailer
Just a heads-up: If you haven’t had a chance to watch the original Broadway production of “Wicked”, the “For Good” trailer could potentially contain major spoilers for Part 2. Enjoy!
At a single glance, Dorothy (currently without a face), is being guided along the Yellow Brick Road by Nessarose, Boq, and an unidentified Munchkin. If it strikes you as remarkably reminiscent of the original Wizard of Oz party, you’d be correct.
In this context, Nessarose serves as a misleading character, embodying the polar opposite of her sister as the Wicked Witch of the East in Munchkinland. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that she is depicted walking in the trailer, but discussing that aspect further would delve into separate spoiler territory.
For now, let’s concentrate on Boq. He’s earning his spot beside Dorothy since he’s poised to embody the Tin Man character in Wicked: For Good. In essence, Jon M. Chu has accidentally revealed a significant plot twist by showing us a sneak peek.
Essentially, Boq feigned affection for Nessarose merely to gain proximity to Glinda, a plot point established earlier. In retaliation, Nessarose employed one of Elphaba’s spells to make Boq’s heart shrink and vanish. Although Elphaba succeeded in reviving Boq, the resurrection transformed him into the Tin Man character.
……and that’s just a small piece of it! The destiny of Fiyero became a hot topic soon after Part 1 was out, with the whirlwind seen in Dorothy’s arrival to Oz, as depicted in the Wicked: For Good trailer, being stirred up by none other than Madame Morrible.
Rest assured, there’s still a lot more unique ideas to be revealed. We’ve incorporated two brand-new tunes into the upcoming film, and the trailer hints at additional intriguing information that builds on what we already know (like Glinda in ‘Wonderful,’ for instance).
In case you haven’t heard, “Wicked” will be out globally on November 21, 2025! Until then, keep yourself entertained with Disney’s upcoming releases, this month’s new streaming movies, and the top-rated films of the year so far. Enjoy the wait!
