Peacemaker Season 2 has been full of action, intense moments, heartwarming connections, and humor, exploring themes of finding and losing family. However, there won’t be a new episode this week.
Peacemaker’s second season is as strong as, or even surpasses, its first. The story follows Christopher Smith as he discovers Earth X, a parallel world where his father and brother are unexpectedly still alive – but living under a Nazi regime.
This season included Lex Luthor and introduced the prison planet Salvation, which will be important for the upcoming Superman movie, *Man of Tomorrow*, and the overall future of the DC Universe.
But there won’t be an Episode 9 of Season 2 this week, for one very good reason.
Is there a Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 9?
There won’t be a new episode of Peacemaker this week. Season 1 finished with Episode 8, ‘Full Nelson’.
The season finale was packed with surprises, including a dramatic return to a story from the very first episode and a plotline that began with ideas from Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin.
Chris and Emilia finally admitted they were in love, and the 11th Street Kids formed a team to help save the Earth, hinting at a happy ending for the episode.
At the end of Season 2, Peacemaker was unexpectedly kidnapped and left stranded on Salvation, with no clear way to get off the planet, leaving viewers on a cliffhanger.
Will there be a Season 3?
While a third season of Peacemaker isn’t in the works right now, John Cena’s character, Peacemaker, will definitely appear in other DC projects.
When asked about a possible third season, James Gunn, the writer and director, explained to Deadline that the current focus is on the larger DC Universe and how this story fits into it. While he didn’t completely rule out another season, he stated that the priority right now is building the future of the DCU, and that this character is a key part of those plans.
James Gunn explained that Peacemaker is a significant character, and one he personally cares about a lot, hinting at a continuing role for him in future projects.
From the start, our goal with this project has been to strengthen and revitalize DC’s most popular characters – Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman – while also building up lesser-known characters like Peacemaker into major attractions.
It’s currently unknown whether Smith will be in the upcoming Supergirl movie. However, with Lex Luthor and Rick Flag Sr. already confirmed for ‘Man of Tomorrow,’ it’s likely the storyline involving Peacemaker’s Salvation will be part of the plot.
