Nico Parker finds it difficult to watch The Last of Us Season 2 as it’s painful for her to see her on-screen father, Pedro Pascal’s character, meet his end. During an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, she expressed that the scene is too emotionally taxing for her.
Parker shared that she hasn’t seen the second season yet because the thought of watching his character die is incredibly upsetting. However, she’s a big fan of the show’s cast and eventually plans to watch Season 2. For now, it’s too difficult for her to handle Pedro’s demise.
Previously, Parker had already witnessed Pascal’s on-screen demise, having watched the sequel to Gladiator where his character met his end. As she put it, “I remained completely composed.
In the second episode of Season 2, Kaitlyn Dever’s character, Abby, viciously takes the life of Joel using a golf club. Similar to the impact of events in The Last of Us: Part II, Joel’s demise sparked a significant response, with showrunner Craig Mazin commenting that everyone was deeply affected and expressed strong emotions when this event transpired.
Some comments he received were along the lines of, “Why did you off Pedro Pascal’s character?” Mazin clarified that he didn’t actually kill Pascal, and in fact, you can see him in numerous roles across various productions – so much so that it’s become a running joke that Pascal appears in everything.
Mazin repeatedly emphasized, “We didn’t cause his death! He’s very much alive. He’s doing well. In fact, he’s present in virtually every other aspect.
The television series ‘The Last of Us’ will return for a third season, though the exact launch date remains unspecified as of now. It’s anticipated that a fourth season will follow, concluding the storyline.
