In the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four film, there was some confusion about why Galactus targeted Earth for consumption. However, it now appears that this decision is connected to the character of Franklin Richards.
In one of the trailers for the upcoming movie, the Silver Surfer issues a dire warning to the main team that their planet has been “designated for destruction… your world will be devoured by the Devourer. There’s no way you can prevent him, for he is an indispensable cosmic force akin to stars.
Embrace your cherished ones tightly and share the words you’ve held back… I announce his arrival, I announce your demise, I announce Galactus,” she says instead.
As a gamer, I’ve been pondering – does this game creator just toss planets and realms around haphazardly, or is there some hidden purpose behind his choice of Earth? A recent sneak peek suggests that he might have something more sinister up his sleeve.
Galactus wants Franklin Richards in Fantastic Four
In a fresh sneak peek, reporters query the Fantastic Four about their victory over Galactus. To everyone’s surprise, they admit they didn’t actually defeat him; instead, they engaged in negotiations.
As an ardent fan, I was eagerly anticipating the latest sneak peek of ‘Fantastic Four’, but it seems we were faced with a dilemma when dealing with Galactus – his demands were simply beyond our reach.

“But Galactus… he asked too high a price. He asked for our child,” Reed tells them.
When a reporter asks if they’re safe, he pauses and responds: “I don’t know.”
In the trailers, Reed and Sue’s son has yet to be mentioned by name, but rest assured he goes by Franklin. This little boy is not only a key character within their storyline, but also possesses immense power that makes him one of the mightiest entities in the Marvel universe (if you’re familiar with the comic books, this secret may already be out!).
Who is Franklin Richards?
Franklin Richards, born to Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), possesses remarkable powers akin to cosmic beings such as the Celestials or Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen, setting him apart in extraordinary ways.
As a gamer, I’d say: I’ve got some serious in-game powers! I can bend reality on a whim, manipulate matter and energy like they’re toys, create my own pocket dimensions, communicate telepathically, move things with my mind, and project myself astrally. Some folks even think I might be unkillable!
It’s understandable that Galactus might find him desirable, and in fact, it might even be advantageous for the rest of the universe. If Franklin possesses the ability to create pocket dimensions, then Galactus could consume them – it would be similar to having a cosmic gourmet chef at his disposal.
It’s uncertain yet how closely his comic book tale will align with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Nevertheless, considering the rumored Fantastic Four post-credit sequence and the approaching Avengers: Doomsday, there’s a good chance he could play a significant role in the future of the series.
In a previous conversation with Empire, Kirby hinted at something thrilling when asked about the team’s ability to confront a villain like Galactus. She remarked, “Not only grown-ups possess superpowers.
