Finally, after a long national wait (for season 7 of Love Island), comes an end. The winner walking away with the $100,000 is none other than beloved contestant Amaya Espinal! That’s right, Amaya Papaya clinched the Isle-a. Or Island, whatever you prefer. Bryan Arenales was also in the competition. As we approached the finale, the pairs were Olandria and Nic (also known as #Nicolandria), Amaya and Bryan, Iris and Pepe, and Huda and Chris (commonly known as HudaChris). In the end, Bryan and Amaya shared the $100k and shared a kiss as they departed into the sunset following Sunday night’s thrilling two-hour finale.

On the same evening that Amaya and Bryan were declared winners, former contestant Cierra Ortega shared some of the threatening messages she received following the revelation of her use of racial slurs online. Another participant from the same season, Yulissa Escobar, also claimed to have experienced “severe online bullying” after their racist actions were exposed. Regarding a video from 2021 where she used a racial slur, Escobar wrote, “That video doesn’t define me, but how the internet treats people does.” These matters may be discussed during the Love Island reunion episode, airing August 25 on Peacock. Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen will co-host this episode due to the anticipated high level of drama.
