In the initial Marvel Rivals series, titled “Eternal Night Falls”, gamers will encounter the second antagonist – Dracula – who intends to dominate New York City.
Without a doubt, the Marvel universe is incredibly far-reaching. It can be experienced through movies, comics, rich history, or video games. Easily, one can become engrossed in the distinctive characters, their abilities, and of course, the numerous antagonists that feature prominently in every storyline.
One noteworthy adversary is Dracula, who’s recently gained attention due to Marvel Rivals’ initial season. To help you comprehend your foe, which is a crucial aspect of any conflict, let me share what we currently know about Dracula, along with details on whether he might be playable in the future.
Who is Dracula?
Apart from being the initial formidable adversary in Marvel’s Rivals, it’s hardly unexpected that Dracula is indeed a vampire. This Transylvanian nobleman was transformed long ago, hence he wields significant power through both his magical abilities and his vampiric nature.
Consequently, Scarlet Witch holds him in strong disdain, frequently labeling him as an aspiring despot. She questions his abilities and harbors resentment towards his affection for Magik.
Many individuals familiar with comic books, particularly those who follow Marvel stories, would likely recognize him from tales such as “Blade: Blood Hunt” (2024) and “X-Men: Apocalypse versus Dracula”.
In the narrative, following Clifton Graves’ revival, he successfully gained dominion over the Cult of the Darkhold, setting off on a quest to acquire the Darkhold – a book depicted in Agatha All Along and a crucial artifact for Scarlet Witch. By mastering this, his ambition was to eliminate all his vampiric vulnerabilities and achieve immortality.
Nevertheless, he constantly encountered obstacles from the Van Helsings, Lilith, Thor, Doctor Strange, the Avengers, the X-Men, and virtually everyone he confronted.
Currently in Marvel Rivals, it seems that character has managed to acquire the Darkhold, and he’s using it to shroud New York City in eternal darkness. He’s leading an assault on the city with his vampire forces. It falls upon you and the other players to thwart his plans.
Will Dracula be playable in Marvel Rivals?
Given that Doctor Doom wasn’t added as a playable character during Season Zero, it seems quite improbable that Dracula would be included as a playable character in Marvel Rivals.
Additionally, it’s important to note that he was not included in the analysis of Season 1, strongly suggesting that Dracula will not appear as a playable character in the game.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but speculate about potential additions to the game’s roster, but considering the heroes are expected to vanquish Dracula, it seems unlikely that he’d engage in combat with those who brought about his demise again.
In case further details emerge, or when he becomes available for play, we’ll make sure to update this piece, so keep an eye on it in the near future.
Meanwhile, take a look at all the buffs and nerfs for season one, along with everything included in the upcoming update, such as the introduction of new game modes and the debut of the Fantastic Four.
