Where To Find Soot To Wake Up Hypnos In Hades 2

In Hades 2, one of your main goals is to wake up Hypnos, the god of sleep. He’s been asleep since the beginning of the game, and a quest called “Soundest of Sleepers” asks you to wake him, but doesn’t tell you how.

When the game was in Early Access, there were two spells connected to a specific prophecy. Now that the full game is out, you can unlock the third and final spell needed to awaken Hypnos. However, you’ll need a rare item to do so. If you’re looking for information on how to get Soot in Hades 2 to finish the ‘End to the Dumbest Slumber’ spell, we can help.

How to Unlock End to Dumbest Slumber

To complete the “Soundest of Sleepers” prophecy in Hades 2, you’ll need to finish three incantations. First, find Hypnos at the Crossroads and talk to him. You’ll need to give him two bottles of Nectar and get at least one Poppy – you can get Poppy Seeds and plant them in your Crossroads garden to grow them. The key person to talk to about this is Medea, who you’ll find in Ephyra, the first region you visit during a surface run.

Follow these steps to learn the End to Deepest Slumber spell, which you can then make at the cauldron. You’ll need one Molly, two Mandrake, and three Poppy flowers. Once you’ve made it, you’ll receive a Dream Vapor. Give this to Hypnos to begin a dream sequence.

So, during early access, they dropped the Olympic Update, and it added this new incantation called “End to Dearest Slumber.” It’s pretty much the same as the last one we had to do – same ingredients, though they threw in an extra Mandrake this time. It sends you back into Hypnos’ dream, but honestly, it wasn’t enough to actually wake him up. Turns out there’s *another* incantation we need to find – the final one, apparently.

Like most things in Hades 2, unlocking new conversations and abilities with Medea takes time and multiple attempts. Regularly talk to her when you find her in Ephyra, and she’ll eventually teach you new incantations. How to Get Soot for the End to Dumbest Slumber Incantation

After finishing the quests ‘End to Deepest Slumber’ and ‘End to Dearest Slumber’, you’ll unlock the ‘End to Dumbest Slumber’ quest. To start it, you need two Poppy flowers, one Shaderot, and one Soot. However, the game doesn’t tell you where to find the Soot item.

To get Soot in Hades 2, you’ll first need to finish the main story – meaning you’ve seen the credits roll. After that, play through the underworld a couple of times. When you reach the last area before the final boss, keep an eye out for a special NPC room and be sure to visit it when it appears (it took me about three runs, but it might take you more or less). Finally, give that NPC at least one bottle of Nectar.

Once you’ve spoken with the NPC, they’ll give you Soot and a Keepsake. Then, return to the Crossroads and use the incantation. Finally, give Hypnos a Dream Vapor to trigger a cutscene, completing the ‘End to Dumbest Slumber’ incantation and waking Hypnos in Hades 2.

You can now claim your reward from the Fated List of Minor Prophecies – two Nightmares, a rare and valuable resource! Need help figuring out what to do with them? Check out our guides hub for answers to all your Hades 2 questions.
