When you first begin your culinary journey as Flora in Magical Delicacy, it’s wise to discover where you can obtain free ingredients within the game. Though acquiring uncommon ingredients will be more challenging, this approach ensures that you won’t need to spend money on common ones right away.
Free ingredient locations in Magical Delicacy
In order to ensure this guide is user-friendly, all in-game, free-of-charge ingredients have dedicated sections. Each section includes a list of locations where these ingredients can be found. Accompanying each location is a screenshot for easy identification and clear instructions on how to get there.
Angelfeet
To the right of Signe’s bakery, leverage your Mist jump to ascend to the platform overhead. Traverse this middle platform as you advance. Upon reaching a table graced with a feline companion, continue slightly further, and the Angelfeet plant awaits at the end of that platform.
Canyongrape
1. To the right of the algae-covered crow statue, where the birds gather together.
Dandelion
Returning to the beginning of the game, make your way down the harbor trail. You can access this spot once you’ve acquired the double jump ability or navigated through the Aquafarmer Huts region.
If you were to jump directly down from the bridge located to the left of the Town Hall building in the Upper Market, you would end up on a platform. To your right, you will find the dandelions near Colo.
To the right of Signe’s bakery, you can utilize a Mist jump to ascend to the platform above you. Then, run along until you encounter the sword statue. Employ another Mist jump, traverse the blue nighttime platforms to your left, and you will find a Dandelion plant there.
Emperor’s Bloom
Upon entering the Western Plaza, you’ll find a cliff to your right. Atop this cliff sits the magnificent Emperor’s Bloom.
To reach your destination, take the wooden lift up to the peak, then make a long jump to the right side, and cross your fingers in hopes of landing on the ledge.
Faecap
If you go directly below the bridgehouse to the south, you’ll find a feather-capped figure in the corner on your right.
As I hike towards Cassia’s Hut, keep an eye out for a hidden Faecap past the second jump platform set, tucked away near a corner right above the entrance.
1. Once you apply the Wither Elixir to the initial large vine belonging to Sana, located to your garden’s upper right side, there is a Faecap situated nearby.
Flatworm
To reach the Upper Market from your shop, take an alternative route instead of the usual left turn after climbing up. Go right instead, and continue ascending until you come across the Shena Mist leap. Before accessing this section, there’s a Flatworm plant on the initial high platform.
Foxglove
To the right of the store, there’s a platform you can double-jump to. Foxgloves are located in the corner once you reach there. However, you’ll need the Gardening Gloves which can be obtained from Sana to pick them up.
If you hop from the Foxgloves directly ahead, you’ll encounter another platform to your right, near the end of the floating staircase. Remember to grab the Gardening Gloves from Sana beforehand to pick up this new find.
If you’re standing at the Upper Market bridge, left of the Town Hall building, and looking for more Foxgloves, just take a straight drop down from there. You’ll find yourself on a platform where you’re sure to come across plenty of these beautiful flowers.
As a gamer, I can describe this section in an engaging way: “After navigating the bridgehouse, jump or slide off the edge from the second gap. Don’t worry, there’s a soft landing below! A platform awaits at the bottom of your descent, adorned with Foxgloves for your discovery. Alternatively, you can take the less daring route and follow the path down to your left after descending from the first gap.”
To the right of Signe’s bakery, find a spot to execute your Mist jump and ascend to the platform above. Then, run towards the sword statue. Employ another Mist jump, trace the blue nighttime platforms to the left, and you’ll encounter a Foxglove plant (located next to the Dandelion plant).
Groundsprouts
1. To the right of your store, double-jump onto the platform and find Groundsprouts in the corner.
2. To the right of the Ryverfarer’s Station.
To reach the cliff on the other side, take the stairs to the right of Ryverfarer’s Station and avoid jumping onto the blue platforms that are only visible at night. Instead, utilize the upper platform as a bridge to make your way across.
Maw Blossom
Near the crow statue, you’ll require the Gardening Gloves of Sana to pick up this ingredient.
Moonberries
1. To the right of the bridgehouse, underneath the staircase.
2. To the left of Signe’s bakery, next to the thorny plant.
To the left of the cliff danger sign, follow the path from the bridgehouse as far as it goes in that direction.
Mudshell
Near Cassia’s hut, if you go to the left instead of the right, you’ll discover a hidden Mudshell in the corner area, away from the two prickly plants.
Onion
1. On the left of Ajea’s Woodworking shop in the Western Plaza.
Redroot
1. To the right of Signe’s bakery, next to the first platform.
Snailnut
To the right of Signe’s bakery, you can reach the elevated platform by utilizing your Mist jump. Once you pass the statue, you will come across a Snailnut plant.
Timbershade
Near the Harbor, there’s a hidden spot, reachable via the southern stairway situated next to Star’s Forge in the Central Plaza.
Near the Central Plaza entrance, to the left of Signe’s bakery, you’ll find the second prickly plant.
Twilightthistle
To obtain the ingredient located at the cliff overhang to the left of Cassia’s Hut, you’ll have to bypass her hut instead of taking the shortcut. Make sure you have Gardening Gloves from Sana beforehand to pick it up.
White Longchute
Make your way to the highest point in the reachable sewers, which are situated to the right of the Aquafarmer Huts. There, you’ll discover a White Longchute. Alternatively, you can enter this location by jumping down from the opening to the left of the bakery.
To reach that part, you must use the Mist Leap. The next White Longchute is located above the spot with the sacrifice bowls.
