These artifacts primarily serve as background information to enrich your understanding of the world, but there are instances where they initiate quests and motivate you to embark on a mission with a clear objective.

One of these missions initiates at the Island Sanctuary, a place that could be overlooked if you hastily move through the opening sequence. Our goal is to assist you in taking your time and locating these clues so that a sorrowful husband can find peace by honoring his deceased wife’s memory.

How To Start The Unforgettable Quest

Starting from your position at the Asylum Island’s initial cell, head left and proceed along the hallway until you reach its endpoint. You’ll encounter a deceased guard fastened to a chair here. Next to him, find a gate that leads into a storage room when opened.

You’ll discover a worn-out box resting on the ground at the back. Inside you’ll find an ancient letter that you can take. Reading it will reveal the final thoughts of Katrin, a pregnant woman who was taken by the Red Priests due to suspicions of having the plague.

As you make your way deeper into the dungeon, you’ll encounter another gate guarded by two skeletons fastened to the wall. This cell is situated right after the one overflowing with the restless dead and the one containing the Wyrdboar skull.

In this chamber, I find a set of chilling notes penned by a Red Priest detailing the horrific torment inflicted upon Katrin and her unborn child. Upon discovering these heart-wrenching facts, my quest, ‘Unforgettable’, begins, yet there’s no guidance on where to go next. My sole clue in this dark journey is that Katrin’s husband bears the name Erfyr.

Where To Find Katrin’s Husband

In this perpetual autumnal landscape, you won’t be able to accomplish much until you advance to the second act in Cuanacht. Once there, navigate towards the lower city district. To get to the artisans’ neighborhood, proceed to the northwestern corner of the city upon arrival.

To locate the blacksmith, you won’t find him outside, but instead, you should head to Erfyr’s residence. Keep in mind that he might be reluctant to engage in conversation.

How To Complete The Change Of Heart Quest

To discuss Erfyr’s wife with him, first, you’ll have to assist him in rescuing his apprentice Beor. It seems that Beor was tricked into a cave by a girl he developed feelings for, but when he returned, he was changed and isn’t himself anymore. Worried that the boy might be dying, Erfyr sends you to investigate the true circumstances of what happened in the cave.

Heading towards the western outskirts of town, beyond the open fields and following the trail, will lead you to the cave. Scattered around are a few deserters and villagers, corrupted by some strange force. Take care of them promptly and make your way into the cave.

Feel welcome to venture into and search through the cave. Inside, you may discover numerous messages penned by lovers and worried relatives, alongside an abundance of alcohol.

As you navigate the cavern, a voice echoes behind you, identifying you as Beor. This figure leads you further into the cave by following the twisting path towards an upper pool near the waterfall. It is here where the sound originates, yet it proves to be not a woman who speaks.

A mystical creature from faerie realms stands ready to ambush you. Strive to maintain a safe distance and employ your throwing knives for dealing damage at a distance. Once you’ve vanquished the monstrous beast, remember to search its remains thoroughly to obtain Beor’s heart.

Return it to Erfyr, and once he puts it in Beor’s chest, they’ll discuss the events that transpired and have a hearty chuckle together, marking the end of their shared adventure.

Erfyr will now reopen the smithy so you’ll find him outside.

Should You Tell Erfyr The Truth About Katrin?

Once Beor has regained consciousness after the assault, feel free to chat with Erfyr in the open air. Initially, you won’t be able to hand him the letter directly. Instead, try to engage him by asking about his family and their current situation. Make sure to explore all the conversation options available to you for a more in-depth discussion.

Be sure not to lose the letter from Katrin! You’ll need to have it in your inventory.

When you hand over the letter, he becomes disappointed, though not unexpectedly so. In return, he presents you with a fitness tracker and sends you off. Despite its lack of impact on his situation, it strengthens his determination even more.
