As a big fan of beat ’em ups, I’m so glad this classic genre is still going strong! A lot of that is down to Dotemu, a developer who really seems dedicated to bringing these games to a wider audience. Their new title, Absolum, already looked amazing during the Steam Next Fest, and now the full game is finally here on PC, PlayStation, and even Nintendo Switch – they didn’t bother with a specific Switch 2 version, but it should run fine on that console too. Because Absolum is built around playing with friends, a lot of us are curious if it has crossplay, so we can team up with players on different platforms and explore the world of Talamh together.
Does Absolum support crossplay?
Since so many people are online now, games that used to be fun with just local multiplayer aren’t enough anymore. Players really want to be able to play together on different devices, and that’s especially true for fans of Absolum. Luckily, the community manager at Dotemu has shared some news about this.
The official Dotemu Discord server has a FAQ section with details about their latest game. Regarding crossplay, it’s not available right now, but the developers have said they definitely want to add it in the future.
Just wanted to give you a quick update – there hasn’t been much new news lately. If you’re really keen on staying informed, the best thing to do is join their Discord server. That’s where all the latest info is dropping! Plus, it’s a great place to let the developers know just how much we, as a community, want crossplay – seriously, letting them know our thoughts could make a big difference. And honestly, the Discord is awesome for meeting other Absolum players, learning from each other, and finding people to adventure with. I highly recommend it!
If you don’t use Discord, you can still stay updated on Absolum! Follow them on platforms like X, Instagram, or TikTok. These are great places to learn about the game’s progress and everything happening with it. Enjoy!
