What to know:
- In a rather cheeky turn of events, hackers have managed to commandeer the Saudi Law Conference’s official account on X, masquerading as the country’s crown prince to peddle some rather dubious cryptocurrencies.
- The Saudi Law Conference, in a fit of digital dismay, has acknowledged the breach and is currently engaged in a frantic effort to reclaim their account.
Picture this: hackers, those modern-day scallywags, have seized the Saudi Law Conference’s social media account on X, donning the guise of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to hawk fraudulent cryptocurrencies. Quite the audacious caper, wouldn’t you say?
In a series of now-deleted posts that would make even the most seasoned con artist blush, these rascals used the name and likeness of the crown prince—who, by the way, also holds the esteemed title of Saudi Arabia’s prime minister—to promote an “Official Saudi Arabia Memecoin” and a rather flamboyant “FALCON Memecoin.” The posts were accompanied by contract addresses, presumably to help the unsuspecting public part with their hard-earned cash.
It should be obvious. But in case it’s not: the SaudiLawConf Twitter has been hacked and repurposed, as confirmed on their Insta.
There is no official Saudi coin.

The conference, a rather grand legal affair in the kingdom, has confirmed on LinkedIn that their official X account was compromised and has advised users that any “content published through the account does not represent our views or official positions in any way.” A classic case of “not my circus, not my monkeys!”
“We confirm that we are urgently working to regain control of the account and disclaim all responsibility for any unauthorized posts made during this period. We also apologize to our followers for any inconvenience this may cause and urge everyone to exercise caution and refrain from engaging with any suspicious content posted through the account until further notice,” the Saudi Law Conference wrote, likely while clutching their pearls.
As if this digital debacle wasn’t enough, it comes amid a hullabaloo surrounding Argentine President Javier Milei, who recently found himself in hot water over a post promoting a memecoin called Libra, which was subsequently yanked from the internet. Oh, the tangled web we weave!
