After the third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty ended, many viewers believed the story of Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah had come to a close. The show’s creator initially confirmed this in March 2025, stating she didn’t have any plans for future seasons. However, she left the door open for a potential return if a compelling story idea emerged and the actors were willing to reprise their roles.

Surprisingly, a movie continuation of *The Summer I Turned Pretty* was announced very quickly after the show’s third season finale aired. This movie will both continue the story and provide a definitive conclusion to the series. The announcement was made at a finale celebration held in Paris, France.

Jenny Han, who created the series, will direct and co-write the screenplay for *The Summer I Turned Pretty Movie* with Sarah Kuckserka. The story details are currently being kept under wraps.

I always envisioned a movie to properly conclude Belly’s story, as there’s one major event still to come. I’m incredibly thankful to Prime Video for believing in my vision and allowing me to share this final part with fans.
