Currently playing in theaters is Season 5 of “The Chosen,” also known as “The Last Supper.” If you’d prefer to stream it instead, you’ll have to wait for its release on Amazon Prime Video, which should happen soon.

In this installment of “The Chosen,” we delve deep into the significant events that unfold during Holy Week, starting with Jesus’ triumphant (and ultimately sad) arrival in Jerusalem, followed by key moments like his last supper with the apostles, and culminating in his arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. The title itself hints at what’s to come, but the series offers a captivating exploration of these crucial events in the life of Jesus.

Similar to how Season 4 was divided last year into three parts for a theatrical release, Part 2 of Season 5 is hitting the big screen this weekend. The third part will follow suit in cinemas on April 11, giving you an opportunity to catch up on the entire season at that point.

Of course, I get why some of us fans might prefer watching it from home. In that case, keep an eye out for it on Amazon’s streaming platform!

When The Chosen Season 5 is coming to Prime Video

In June 2025, you can find Season 5 of The Chosen streaming on Amazon Prime Video; however, the specific release date is still undisclosed at this time.

Dallas Jenkins officially declared that Amazon has become The Chosen’s primary third-party partner under their recent agreement.

Jenkins mentioned during a Facebook Q&A that Season 5 is expected to premiere between early and mid-June, and it will only be available for streaming in the U.S. on Amazon Prime Video.

During another live broadcast, Jenkins clarified that as part of the agreement, Amazon’s Prime Video will secure an exclusive streaming period following the film’s cinematic debut. This means that for a span of 90 days, the movie will be available exclusively on Prime Video within the United States.

Will The Chosen Season 5 be available to stream for free?

Yes! The Chosen Season 5 will be available to stream for free… eventually.

Jenkins and their production crew have consistently guaranteed that the “mothership series” would continue to be accessible for free. However, viewers may have to pay to catch earlier seasons, but come late this year, the fifth season is set to stream on The Chosen’s website and mobile app without charge.

Jenkins clarified that following the season finale, we’ll have to wait for 90 days before the show becomes available again, this time on The Chosen app.

In other words, if you want to stream Season 5 for free, you may have to wait until September 2025.

While this change might be disappointing for long-term enthusiasts, it’s essential to consider the advantages. By teaming up with Amazon, the series can expand its reach to more viewers. Additionally, this partnership will support the development of future installments within the franchise.
