What’s Going on With Selling Sunset’s Chelsea and Bre?

As a seasoned connoisseur of reality TV, I must say that the latest season of Selling Sunset left me with more questions than answers. The intricate web of secrets and betrayals has become as much a part of the show’s charm as the luxurious real estate listings themselves.

The eighth season of Selling Sunset, which runs for approximately 6.5 hours in total, is comparatively brief for a reality series. Unlike traditional real estate shows, this one delves more into the cast members’ personal lives rather than strictly property transactions. The finale finds Chelsea Lazkani contemplating a fresh start as a divorcee at a hillside residence and Bre Tiesi hinting at involving Amanda Lynn, who shared details of Chelsea’s husband’s affair in episode three, into the O Group. It appears that Bre’s attitude undergoes a shift throughout the season: Initially, she seems willing to reconcile with Chelsea and put their conflict to rest – until Chelsea confronts her about her husband’s infidelity. The show suggests that Bre’s accusation of using the affair for revenge against Chelsea is what prompts Bre to wear her most villainous blonde wig and storm into the office in leather. However, the storyline concludes there, unless you follow these women on Instagram for more updates! It’s highly recommended, as there’s a lot going on!

What did Bre know?

Bre repeatedly emphasized during the show that learning about Chelsea’s husband kissing another woman in the W Hotel lobby was a secret she felt compelled to keep, despite her uncertainty about its implications. She often hinted at this knowledge and seemed troubled whenever the topic of Chelsea’s family came up, struggling with whether revealing it would exacerbate their already strained relationship. However, in episode five, Bre chose to disclose the secret, portraying it as an act of maturity, a moment of unity between two women allegedly brought closer by their mutual experiences of being mistreated by men. Yet, according to Chelsea, this depiction does not accurately represent what truly transpired.

And according to Chelsea?

On September 9, 2024, Chelsea went online on Instagram for a chat with Jessie Woo. During the conversation, she shared that she had a premonition about what Bre was going to disclose before they even sat down. As per her Instagram Live session and previous revelations on X, it was Chelsea who proposed the setup once she’d heard what Bre had discovered. She expanded on her thought process during the live stream, explaining that her goal was to make Bre reveal the rumor so that she wouldn’t have multiple opportunities to repeat it in scenes with other cast members. Moreover, she disclosed that this strategic move was facilitated by a tip from Emma Hernan.

In episode nine, when Chelsea, Bre, Chrishell Stause, and Emma are having a heated dispute at the dog funeral, Bre angrily discloses that Chrishell and Emma were privy to the situation with Amanda prior to it unfolding. For spectators, this might be perplexing since it’s unclear just how much Chrishell and Emma were aware of what Amanda was going to discuss. However, Chelsea made it clear during the Live that Emma knew the topic in advance and contacted her to warn her beforehand. This aligns with what Bre told Cosmopolitan U.K. in an interview on September 9: “They had the information,” she stated. “They’ve known. They can create whatever narrative helps them avoid online criticism, or however they wish to be perceived. But they were all well-informed about this scene before it took place. They were informed about everything that was happening.

So when are they hashing it out at the reunion?

In a manner not exclusive to “Selling Sunset”, this type of chaotic fallout following the finale – as seen with Chelsea revealing Amanda’s alleged racist tweets – often gets addressed during reunion episodes on other shows. Typically, these discussions are accompanied by large binders filled with printed evidence. However, it remains uncertain if this season of “Selling Sunset” will feature a reunion, as no date for such an event has been set.
