After the shocking events of episode six, episode seven of the HBO Max series will show what happens next. Here’s when you can watch it on HBO Max. Be careful – spoilers are coming up!
The latest episode of the HBO series took a dark turn, moving beyond a typical police chase. A violent shootout and brawl involving the FBI, Robbie Prendergrast, and the Dark Hearts gang resulted in the deaths of two significant characters.
Agent Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo) lived, but Prendergrast was stabbed by the leader of the bikers, Jayson (Sam Keeley), and died from his injuries. This is surprising, considering the entire plot of the show revolved around Brandis chasing Prendergrast, and his death now creates new problems.
Things take a dark turn when Lizzie, a new state patrol officer played by Alison Oliver, is hit by Jayson and Perry (Jamie McShane) as they escape, and tragically dies from her injuries. These two unexpected deaths are building towards a tense and dramatic conclusion in Task Episode 7.

How many episodes of Task are there?

The series has just seven episodes, and the final one will conclude the story. Although it’s currently planned as a limited series, the creator, Brad Inglesby, hasn’t completely dismissed the idea of continuing it, possibly even by connecting it to his previous show, Mare of Easttown.
He mentioned to The Hollywood Reporter that he felt there were still untold stories about the characters and setting in Delaware County. Since both ‘Mare of Easttown’ and ‘Dark Pines’ share the same location, he thought it would be natural for characters from the two shows to cross paths—perhaps even running into each other at a Wawa. While he doesn’t currently have a specific crossover story planned, he’s very open to the idea of their worlds colliding.
What happened in Task Episode 6?

Following the deaths of Prendergrast and Lizzie, the FBI began investigating the taskforce to determine how the Dark Hearts had consistently evaded capture.
Okay, so as a viewer, we’ve known for a while that Anthony Grasso (Fabien Frankel) was the rat within Dark Hearts. But it took Brandis a while to catch on – he finally figured it out by looking into Grasso’s old cases and seeing a pattern with the gang. Honestly, it feels like all this is building up to Grasso finally getting what he deserves.
