What is Masters of Albion? Trailer, system requirements, and platforms

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for strategy games that blend city-building and combat, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation upon witnessing the unveiling of Masters of Albion. With my years of experience under my belt, I’ve seen many games come and go, but the unique blend of construction, customization, and monster slaying in this game has piqued my interest like none other.

22cans, a studio recognized for creating titles like GODUS and The Trail, is developing an upcoming strategy-city builder game titled Masters of Albion. This exciting new project was unveiled during the opening event of Gamescom 2024. Here’s a rundown of what you should know about it.

Masters of Albion gameplay and trailer

In “Masters of Albion,” you find yourself immersed within the realm of Albion, a world brimming with challenges, choices, hidden treasures, and fearsome creatures for players to uncover. By day, you construct your outpost—Oakridge—and by night, you defend it from hostile attacks. The development of Oakridge involves more than just expanding its size and functionality; it also requires attending to the needs of your populace, such as food, clothing, and weapons. A unique aspect highlighted in the game’s preview is the ability to tailor the food and structures according to your preferences.

What is Masters of Albion? Trailer, system requirements, and platforms

As evening falls, it’s essential to ready your characters for defending against the beasts of Albion. You have the option to engage these adversaries in a battle from a divine perspective (top-down view) or a third-person standpoint, adding an exciting twist. If you wish to unleash extraordinary attacks and abilities such as lightning, flamethrowers, and water cannons, simply switch back to god mode whenever needed. Additionally, each character can be tailored by crafting their own weapons and armor.

Although the trailer only showed what the zombies look like in the game, expect to see more monsters including werewolves and trolls. You can explore Albion to discover new towns and mines that will help you expand your business and earn more money. The developers are calling this open-world game something “new, unique, and different” in this genre and we can’t wait to see more of it.
