As a fervent fan who’s been hooked since the inaugural season of Love Island USA, I must admit that this reunion has been a rollercoaster ride, to say the least. The relationship between finalists Nicole and Kendall, two of my favorite islanders, has been a source of both hope and heartache.

Despite closing the villa, more bombshells continue to enter the Love Island USA reunion. Finalists Nicole Jacky and Kendall Washington are still together after leaving the reality bubble, but it may burst sometime soon. During the reunion, host Ariana Madix asked them about the status of their relationship, and while the couple admitted they were still together, it turned into a full-on argument between them. Nicole explained, “I haven’t ended things; we’re still together.” Kendall added, “It’s been a bit tough coming on the outside. Just trying to communicate and work (through) things.” However, communication must’ve been a sore subject because the word is really what got things going. Nicole shot back, “Communicate? You have not been communicating. You never have been.” Then, Kendall alluded to the couple trying to have some “space” from each other; Nicole cut him off to exclaim, “After you lied to my face?”
It appears as though the issue in their relationship could potentially stem from the leaked revenge porn video of Kendall that surfaced on the day of the finale. Nicole expressed her thoughts, stating, “I feel compelled to say something. Clearly, the video is unacceptable and nobody should have to endure such treatment. Everyone here can agree it’s reprehensible.” However, she felt deceived when Kendall mentioned that the video was from years ago and shared it with an ex-girlfriend, only to find out later from JaNa that it happened in a hotel room before going on the show, and he had been communicating about it on a dating app. Kendall acknowledged his mistake, saying, “I should’ve been honest with Nicole at that moment, but I wasn’t ready. My life was in chaos, and all I wanted was for you to be there.”
Later on, Nicole expressed strong feelings, stating she endured a significant amount of criticism for not speaking up about the videos to shield him. As the other islanders, however, they stood by Kendall, attempting to reason with her that he was dealing with numerous issues due to the video releases and needed some understanding. Following the reunion show, the couple has yet to provide additional information regarding their relationship status.
