Wendy’s celebrates Krabby Patty meal launch with Spongebob-themed drive-thru

As a lifelong Spongebob fan who has seen countless episodes and even attended a Bikini Bottom-themed birthday party back in 2005, I can say that this Wendy’s drive-thru transformation is nothing short of amazing! It’s like stepping into the cartoon world itself. I mean, who wouldn’t want to cruise under an upside-down Spongebob inflatable and see Patrick Star’s house on one side and Squidward’s on the other?

A Wendy’s restaurant located in Los Angeles, California, has been trending on social media platforms, as it transformed its drive-thru into SpongeBob SquarePants’ Bikini Bottom in celebration of the release of their Krabby Patty meal.

2024 saw themed collaborations taking over almost all fast-food restaurants, and Wendy’s isn’t an exception to this trend. Their recent project follows suit.

In October 2024, the company introduced the Krabby Patty meal, a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed offering, which has since drawn crowds of customers nationwide, eager to try it at their local Wendy’s outlet.

A business situated in Los Angeles, California, has garnered widespread attention on social platforms by transforming its drive-thru into a full-fledged replica of Bikini Bottom.

A TikTok video shows a car passing beneath an enormous, overturned Spongebob inflatable and into a tunnel. On either side, you’ll notice recognizable elements of Bikini Bottom, such as the residences of Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward.

It’s unclear if this place is the sole provider of a themed drive-thru, but enthusiasts nationwide have devised unique methods to commemorate the launch instead.

A lot of people are heading to their nearby Wendy’s, enacting different quotes from Spongebob Squarepants, and ordering the Krabby Patty meal.

TikToker Carterflat went viral with a video of a Wendy’s employee joining in on the memes as well.

The employee expressed gratitude for your decision to visit our enchanting Wendy’s, a place known for the delicious Krabby Patties. What would you like me to prepare for you?

The TikToker replied in a Patrick voice: “Oh, you know exactly why I’m here.”

“You want one of those Krabby Patty’s don’t you Squidward?” the employee responded.

The video he posted has been viewed more than 4.4 million times ever since it became popular, and people have expressed their opinions in the comment section.

“That dude is having too much fun ngl,” one user commented.

Another said: “Immediate friendship started right here.”

A third person commented, “This video is absolutely top-notch! I love the way the workers are portrayed at the start, the distinctive voice of Patrick, and the hilarious sense of humor they’ve used throughout – it’s all spot on! I can’t wait to see how well this does.
